🛬 Back from my trip, but I couldn’t resist a late-night decaf…
Tried a new decaf from Cusuaka Café in Paris (chocolate + peanut butter notes!) and pulled a shot that somehow came out perfect on the first try.
I messed up the milk texture a bit 😅 but the taste was excellent — definitely the best decaf I’ve had so far.
Have you tried decaf you actually enjoyed?
💬 Let’s talk about it in the comments of today’s video (RTHB Day 89)

☕ Best shot yet?
Today’s RTHB (Day 87) feels like a milestone — I finally dialed in the new beans (Brazil from Dropshot Coffee Roasters) and got the timing & taste just right for a 1:2 espresso.
It was so good. Chocolatey, balanced, rich.
The milk texture… not perfect though. Still too foamy. But that’s part of the process 🙌
🎥 I’m also trying a new video structure with relaxing music and then voice commentary. Let me know what you think!
🎧 RTHB Day 87 is live — let’s talk about flavor notes. You more into chocolate & nuts, or funky fruity coffees?

✨ Quiet afternoon brews
Hey friends — I didn’t manage to film in the morning today, so I’m sharing a chill, silent coffee session from the late afternoon.
It’s the first time I’m using this decaf from Dropshot Coffee Roasters, and while the extraction was a bit too quick, I might’ve pulled off my cleanest latte art yet 😄
The new video is now live — come wind down with me for a few minutes and let me know what you think of these silent workflow episodes!

☕ RTHB Day 85 is live!
Today’s video is a bit of a mystery… I changed the grind size expecting a faster extraction, but the result wasn’t quite what I imagined.
The channeling was intense, the taste a bit harsh, and even though the tulip turned out okay, something just felt off about this shot. Have you ever had a coffee moment like this?
Let me know what YOU do when things go sideways.
🎥 New video up now on the channel!

🌎 New beans, new journey!
In today’s Road to Home Barista (Day 84), I’m starting with a Brazil single origin from Dropshot Coffee Roasters.
Instead of a long dial-in video, I’m testing a new approach: integrating the dialing process directly in my RTHB episodes.
It’s a bit intense, a bit bitter… but promising 👀
Let me know in the comments: do you prefer separate dial-in videos or seeing the progress day by day?

☕ Last cup with Cherry Blossom beans!
Today marks the final espresso I’ll make using the amazing Cherry Blossom beans from MELK Café (Canada) — and I wanted to end on a strong note. It’s a classic 1:2 espresso with smooth chocolate/cherry notes and a tulip latte to wrap things up.
🎥 New video just dropped! Let me know your favorite coffee roaster in the comments — maybe I’ll try them in a future video 🔥

✈️☕ Traveling Home Barista — Montréal Edition (ft. my sister)
Just posted a brand new video from my trip to Montréal, where I visited three specialty coffee shops with my sister:
-Crew Collective & Café
- MELK Café
- OSMO x Marusan Café-Terrasse
The vibes, the pours, and the cherry-forward flat whites made this a trip to remember! 🍒
(And yes, my sister even impersonated me at the end… judge for yourself 😅)
🎥 The full video is live now — check it out and tell me what Montréal cafés I should visit next time.
Also curious to know… when YOU travel, do you plan your trip around coffee stops like I do?

⚙️ Back to espresso experiments today!
Tried a 1:2.5 lungo with the Cherry Blossom beans from MELK Café — and let’s just say… it didn’t go as planned.
Bitterness and watery texture made this a miss, but still a good learning moment.
🎥 Day 82 of my Road to Home Barista is live — let me know what espresso ratios YOU prefer!

☕️ RTHB Day 81 — Espresso experiment gone... ristretto? 😅
Today I meant to try a longer espresso ratio (1:2.5), but I forgot to go coarser... and ended up accidentally pulling a ristretto instead.
Good news? It turned out surprisingly tasty – intense, chocolatey, and perfect with milk.
🔗 New video just dropped:
“I Was Aiming for a 1:2.5… Ended Up with a Ristretto | RTHB Day 81”
🎥 Also trying to save the audio with a bit of voice-over this time – let me know if the format still works for you!

Day 80 already?! 🤯
Today’s V60 brew gets a little upgrade: custom water! 💧
I used a recipe called "Holy Water" prepared by a friend to see how it affects flavor clarity and balance. The results… were surprising!
Do you think water makes a big difference in your filter coffee? Come watch and let me know! 👇
