On the day of the Capricorn new moon (January 11th, 2024) at least 15 tech companies and a few hedge funds announced massive layoffs. I believe this is an important look into the next decade as this is the last Capricorn new moon where Pluto will also be in Capricorn (in our lifetime). Pluto moves into Aquarius on January 20/21 and will then be there for the next 19 years after November of this year.
When Pluto moved into Capricorn in 2008, America went through a dramatic housing crisis that lead to a financial disaster. Capricorn is associated with money and markets. If we look at Aquarius, this sign is associated with innovation, technology, and the future. I believe Pluto in Aquarius ushers in the official collapse of many jobs in the tech and banking sector that were once seen as essential due to AI (Pluto being the destroyer). Iโm also predicting that office buildings and other commercial real estate will be transformed into apartment units as America is now dealing with a new type of housing affordability crisis. Pluto in Aquarius will be associated with an acceleration of developments in AI that will completely transform the way we work, live and interact with society.
Lastly, Pluto leaving Capricorn shows a peek into the future of currency and investments. Fiat currencies (physical money and traditional bank accounts) will slowly erode and be replaced by digital money and wallets. We call this cryptocurrencies today, but I would not be surprised to see that industry take on new branding (central bank digital currency). Recently, a Bitcoin ETF was approved and the heavy hitters have officially arrived to the space (hedge funds and bankers). Expect major price manipulation going forward if you dabble in crypto โ you are now swimming with sharks and they will do anything to win.
This obviously might sounds scaryโฆand yeah Pluto is scary because transformation is scary. However, there will be many good things that result from this transit. Instant bank transfers with either zero fees or fees that are fractions of a penny, new housing options, an increase in remote work, a shorter work week, new careers and jobs that do not exist today, and quality of life improvements that were not before seen as possible as AI helps assist us in our daily routines. There are probably a lot more that I havenโt touched on.
