The Maha Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, attracts millions of pilgrims to the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj, India. Devotees believe that bathing at this sacred site during the festival absolves them of sins and grants salvation. The 2025 festival, which began on January 13 and will continue until February 26, is expected to draw over 400 million participants. 
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has also released satellite images of the Maha Kumbh Mela, showcasing the extensive infrastructure developed to accommodate the massive influx of pilgrims. These images provide a unique perspective on the scale and organization of the event.
