Thank You for Our Painful Ending


To every person who's "hurt me" in a relationship:
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you for "hurting me." Thank you for showing me the pieces of me that still need my love and attention.
Thank you for bringing my darkness to my awareness.

Thank you for helping me to find my pain that I could not find alone.
Thank you for making me feel voiceless so I could find my voice.
Thank you for making me feel invisible so I could truly see myself.
Thank you for making me feel unworthy so I could find my worth.

Thank you for making me feel unlovable so I could love myself.

Thank you for lashing out at me with painful words so I could recognize that the only way your words can hurt me is if I actually believe them. Thank you for showing me the pieces of me that believe your unkind words. Thank you for showing me more pieces of me that need healing.

Thank you for being in pain. Thank you for mirroring my own pain back to me, for showing me so clearly what hurts in me, for forcing me to realize that we attract what we are, not what we want, and that for us to have been together, I, too, must have been deeply hurting. Thank you for ripping me out of my denial even if I was, initially, kicking and screaming.

Thank you for letting me think I was angry at you. Thank you for guiding me to the truth that it is impossible for me to be angry at another unless in truth I am angry at myself for all I've denied in me, all I'm ashamed of in me and all that I invited and I allowed while connected to others.

Thank you for creating pain in me that was so real and so raw that it led me to lash out at you. While I am deeply sorry for hurting you from my place of pain, thank you for showing me the deepest darkness in myself, the darkness that made me want to ensure that you too were hurting. Thank you for forcing me in my shame to address the root of that shame, the hurting little girl inside of me who still throws tantrums, lashing out at others, while she begs to be seen, heard and loved.

Thank you for not forgiving me so that I could see it was actually me who wanted, needed and deserved my forgiveness all along.

Thank you for abandoning me so I could go search for the deepest pieces of me that I've left alone in the darkness to suffer without connection. Thank you for guiding me to reconnect to myself.
Thank you for making me feel like I was easy to walk away from so that I could return to me, the pieces of myself that I easily walked away from and left behind while connected to you. Thank you for mirroring in your treatment of me, exactly how I have treated myself. Thank you for showing me how I was hurting myself in a misguided, denial-of-self-based effort to "try to help others."


Thank you for leaving me alone in my darkness so I could save myself.

The meaning of true love from a man.
I hate to say this but most women will go their entire lifetime and never experience the meaning of actual true love.

It's even slightly depressing to think that most people will never understand how powerful this picture actually is.
This gentleman is a prime example of how men should be treating their partner with everyday that passes.
We unfortunately live in a generation with men who have no idea what it takes to be a real man.

Let me give you a couple examples of a real man ......

A real man asks about your day and genuinely cares about the answer.
A real man respects your boundaries and never forces you to anything you're not ready to do.
He makes time for you, and takes that time to learn and understand who you are as a person.
A real man consistently shows you the definition of effort with every day that passes.

He will call you randomly throughout the day just to check on you and your mental health.
A real man is undeniably committed to you and looks for new ways to fall in love with you with every day that passes.
He makes protecting your heart a number one priority.
A real man never makes permanent decisions based on temporary emotions.

He never confuses you on where you stand in his life.
A real man apologizes when he is wrong and stays true to his character.
He doesn't mind hurting other people's feeling to protect yours.

A real man gives you affection without sexual expectation.
A real man refuses to entertain any women that isn't you.
He has genuine intentions with you from day one and shows you how it truly feels to be a priority rather an option.

A real man will help you heal from the trauma that nobody apologized for.
A real man values you and would never put themselves in a position to lose you.
Take my advice and wait for the man that never let's you fall asleep at night questioning your own self-worth.

Soul Ties

The Truth Is We Outgrow Those Who Don’t Know How to Love Us
The truth is, we outgrow those who don’t appreciate us—those who are indifferent to our presence and comfortable with our absence. We outgrow those who allow the distance between us to grow, those who make us feel replaceable.

We outgrow those who aren’t genuine with us, those who say things they don’t mean. The ones who talk the talk but fail to walk the walk when we need them by our side. We outgrow those who only embrace certain parts of us, refusing to accept us in our entirety. Those who dismiss our wants and needs, too preoccupied with their own.

We outgrow those who make us feel like we’re not worth their time or effort. Those who could give so much more but choose to hold back. The ones who consistently place us last on their list of priorities. We outgrow those who are lazy in their love—those who retreat two steps every time we move one step forward.

The truth is, we eventually reach a point where we fully understand who we are, what we want, and what we deserve. We refuse to sell ourselves short. We refuse to repeat the exhausting cycle of offering our hearts to those who don’t know how to hold them. We reach a point where self-love outweighs any other love. We choose ourselves, even when others don’t.

We outgrow those who show us they’re not invested, who won’t try, and who treat us as temporary stops on their journey to something—or someone—else. We outgrow those who fail to make us feel cherished, who don’t value us the way we deserve to be valued.
The truth is, we’re capable of giving the world to someone we love. All we need in return is the reassurance that they won’t abuse it, that our hearts are safe with them, and that they won’t turn into another regret or another lesson learned the hard way.

We outgrow those who don’t know how to love us, saving our love for those who meet us with the same depth of care. For those who are willing to catch us when we fall. We outgrow those who offer empty words but no actions. We’ve spent years learning to love ourselves, and we won’t jeopardize that growth by staying with people who make us question our worth.

The truth is, we outgrow those who aren’t afraid of losing us—because they’ll never truly understand us, never see us the way we yearn to be seen, and never give us the love we’ve always deserved.

I feel it in your short breath, in your dim look, in your trembling voice.
You're wearing yourself out.
— I don't have a choice.
I have to carry it all, manage it all, cash it all.
I need to be strong .
- Cool?
You confuse strength with sacrifice.
What you wear bends your chin,
gnaw your bones,
turning you off softly, silently.
— I can't let it go.
They are counting on me.
If i stop, everything falls apart.
— And you?
If your falling apart,
who will lift you up?
— I... I don't know.
I don't want to be a burden.
— You don't have to carry it all alone.
You are not a rock,
you are a woman.
— But if I don't, who will?
If I'm not strong, who will be in my place?
— Who taught you that asking for help was a weakness?
Who made you believe that being exhausted was a sign of courage?
— I learned to be strong.
To hold on tight.
Not to complain.
— And at what cost?
How much does your light go out?
At what cost are your dreams?
— I don't want to disappoint.
I don't want to fail.
— You don't fail by resting.
You don't fail by letting go of what's not yours.
You do not fail by choosing to save yourself, you.

— You are you.
Finally you.
Without masks, without imposed roles.
You become that free woman again,
she who knows how to dance in the rain,
the one who doesn't seek to please,
the one who doesn't need to control everything to be at peace.

I fear losing those who don't understand.

Because those who can't accept your truth
never really liked who you are.
