During a recent visit to a local woodcraft workshop, I found myself quietly standing beside a master artisan. No machines humming, no fancy setup—just the steady rhythm of his hands carving delicate patterns into wood, each movement echoing years of tradition and unspoken wisdom.
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji spoke about Jeevan Chandra Joshi ji from Uttarakhand, who creates intricate art from the bark of pine trees, I felt that India’s soul, in so many ways, lives in these hands. In their patience. In the stories that are passed down not through textbooks, but through craft.
As a fashion entrepreneur, I’ve seen weavers, dyers, and artisans turn raw materials into magic. And each time, I’ve realised—it’s not just about the final product. It’s about confidence. About dignity. About keeping something alive that’s too easily forgotten.
These photos from the workshop are a small glimpse into that world. Into a belief I hold close: Vocal for Local isn’t just a campaign. It’s a choice we make every day—to support, celebrate, and honour the quiet brilliance around us.

A successful Free Eye Check-up Camp was organised by Sangini Saheli 🐝 with generous support from Guru Nanak Satsangat Sabha, Amar Colony.
The camp provided free eye testing, consultations, and spectacles to those in need — especially women and senior citizens who often delay their health due to economic or social constraints.
Our gratitude to all doctors, volunteers, and partners who helped make this effort possible.💪🏽

“We plant trees. But really, we plant trust, care, and the hope of a greener tomorrow.” 🌱
On this World Environment Day, the women and children of our Sangini Saheli community came together to give back to the Earth — with their hands, hearts, and quiet commitment.
Every tree planted today is a small promise to our future —
and a humble tribute to the nurturing spirit of every mother.
Because like mothers, the Earth also gives… without asking anything in return.

'Sangini Saheli' by Priyal Bhardwaj is a women welfare initiative wherein we are actively working to empower, uplift and connect women and children by creating better opportunities, opening access and equal avenues for them. During the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, a significant impact of the pandemic and the nation-wide lockdown has been its effect on menstrual health and hygiene management. Whether it's menstruation or menopause, talking about periods has often been a taboo subject.
In an era of strong dialogues on the empowerment of women and smashing the patriarchy, a large part of women population are still struggling with proper access to essentials like sanitary napkins. Periods don't stop during a pandemic. Like food and security, period supplies are equally essential and vital. We urge you to join us in raising awareness and provide access to anyone struggling to manage their menstrual cycle and let's not forget 'Women hygiene cannot be compromised during a pandemic'.
