I had a lot of fun completing this sketchbook. To be honest, when I first started in this very thick sketchbook I didn't even think I can finish it (or at least not any time soon). It didn't take over night either. I started this sketchbook in January 2022 and now we're more than half way through 2024. It's not about the speed, it's about the fact that it can be done with time and that I continued to go back to it. As I reflect in my time with this sketchbook, I only started to want to finish it towards the end. I savoured the slow progression and was at peace with the fact that it wasn't going to be done any time soon. Because let's face it, it's never about actually finishing a sketchbook, it's about improving our drawing skills. It's about using sketchbook as a tool for ourselves. The finished sketchbook is not a product, it's a showcase of your progression as as an Artist.

I’ve been learning how to improve video editing and sharing better content since I started. I’m still a noob struggling but I think this video is the best one I made so far. Also enjoyed drawing this sketchbook page.

Hello, my name is Susan Shao.
I was born in Beijing and I grew up in Canada.
While my occupation is in technology, I love art! I definitely won't be programming after I retire, but I'm pretty sure I'll still be drawing in my sketchbook.
I plan to use this channel to keep track of my art process. I primarily paint with acrylic, gouache, and watercolour. For my sketchbook, I use a wide range of mediums including graphite pencils, ink, brush pen, acrylic and oil markers, highlighters, etc... my sketchbook is a playground. :)
Thanks for stopping by to check out my channel!
