The not-so-family-friendly family band (+ friends)
The Dot Tones was founded in early 2023 by family members Kris, Carrie, Jax, and Wilder. The transformation of our dining room into a music room, adorned with our signature pink and orange palette alongside a surf-inspired halftone backdrop, marked the start of our musical endeavor.
Originally taking on the roles of drummer and lead vocalist, Wilder soon felt the pull to step into the spotlight as our charismatic frontman. Jax, the bassist of the group, crossed paths with drummer Kingston at jazz camp in the summer of 2023. Recognizing Kingston's talents, we extended the invitation for him to join the group as our drummer, completing the ensemble.
In the beginning, we created videos for social covering our favorite early rock, punk, and post-punk songs and made our live debut in the latter part of 2023. While the Dot Tones is primarily a five-piece band, we have enjoyed working with other talented musicians in our community.
