Oh man, we're getting some early springtime weather here at the V8 Speed & Resto Shop and we've got drop-top dreams in our head! This cool 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible is wearing Frost Turquoise with aqua interior, springtime colors that recall a warm blue sky over a Caribbean sea. We upgraded this one with a new 347 cubic-inch V8 engine and an overdrive automatic transmission for reliable cruising fun in the sun. We added a precise Borgeson Universal Company steering gear for better road feel and control, a Hydratech hydraulic booster for much better stopping, and rebuilt the suspension for a great ride. We just sent it home and the owner is doing a sunshine dance to speed the arrival of warm weather so he can drop the top and rack up some miles of smiles. Remember the cool blue '67 Camaro we built a while back? It recently returned to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for a boost in the boost! We brought the supercharged LSA engine to our engine machine shop and slipped in a Texas Speed Stage 3 Cam and valve spring kit for better breathing, a set of matched injectors to fuel the fire, and a smaller blower pulley, because more air makes more boom!
We test ran the LSA to ensure everything was running smoothly, then slipped it back into the ‘67. A trip to the chassis dyno is next for a final tune. It was a blast to drive before the upgrades, and we’re excited for version 2.0! The 1957 Ford Thunderbird we built a few years ago came back for some detail work and maintenance, we're happy to see how much the owner likes driving it! It's sitting on a custom chassis with a Ford 5.0 Coyote V8 hooked to a Lokar shifted 6-speed automatic, stopped by Wilwood Disc Brakes, cooled by Vintage Air, monitored by Dakota Digital gauges, and sings through a custom built, oval-tubed Magnaflow exhaust system. We call builds like these our Driven series, as we didn't do any paint work to the body, but re-imagined the driveline and chassis to improve the ride and power without losing the DNA of the car. Just finished up this torque-monster 462 ci Oldsmobile build for a rare '71 Cutlass Supreme SX convertible! 🤘 All machine work, assembly, paint, and detail work done in-house at the V8 Speed & Resto Shop. The COMP Cams hydraulic roller camshaft conversion and Edelbrock Performance aluminum heads and intake topped with Holley Terminator EFI make this beast a joy to drive! There's also an overdrive automatic hiding under the unmodified floor. The best part is the car now has tons more power with a totally stock and correct look, as it's one of only 357 produced! It's a rare breed of a total tire fryer that is super comfortable with great handling. Yes please!
