📍And then, this happened...
Half an hour into our next leg, we got a flat tire. A really bad one.
But in true travel magic fashion, a minibus full of total strangers jumped in and helped us out—tire changed, smiles shared.
From there, it was all mountain magic: Tufandag's stunning peaks, a peaceful stay at Runaway House surrounded by wildflowers, and the warmest goodbye to Azerbaijan.
The vegan scene’s small but growing—don’t expect a lot, but don’t let that stop you either. It’s worth the journey.

📍Still in Azerbaijan — but now deep in the mountains.
After exploring Baku, we met up with old friends and made our way to the Basqal region, crossing a swinging bridge and soaking in lush landscapes totally unlike the desert near the capital.
In Lahic, we had tea with jam (no bread—yes, that’s a thing!), wandered cobblestone streets, and stayed in a cozy guesthouse that felt like a Nepal teahouse met a Swiss mountain hut.
There was vegan food, mountain views, and late-night board games. Not bad, right?
