Loving Gukak channel is starting this project of translating classic Korean music into English to introduce the genre to a wider global audience.
Most of the lyrics in classical Korean songs are in archaic words and dialects, making some contents difficult to understand even for locals. Even so, obviously, the lyrics are kept in their original forms instead of being converted into modern language to main their original tone and character.
We would like to disclose here that in order to translate the lyrics into English, they had to be converted into modern language, and archaic words and vocabulary unique to Korea could not be communicated exactly.
This project is our endeavor to guide foreign audiences to gain a better understanding about Korean classical music, and we would really appreciate your cheers and support.
