📢 Upcoming LIVE debate! This Sunday evening (May 25th) at 7pm EST, I’ll be having a formal debate with Joe Heschmeyer of Catholic Answers on the topic:

"Does water baptism save?"

You'll be able to watch it live here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWFlk... (hosted by ‪@TheApologeticDog‬)

I'll also upload the full debate to my channel afterward so you can watch it at your convenience.

Please be praying that I can clearly proclaim the gospel to all who will watch, and that many would stop trusting in their baptism to save them, and trust in Jesus Christ alone.

One statement I often hear from some apologists is: "God loves you enough to leave you alone. If you don't want God in your life, God respects your decision, you don't have to have him for all eternity."

But that's not the case at all. God doesn't respect a person's decision to reject him, he's angry with them about that rejection (Psalm 7:11-13) and they'll face His divine wrath for all eternity as a result: "He also will drink the wine of God’s wrath…" (Revelation 14:10).

Statements like that from apologists unintentionally imply to unbelievers that it's acceptable to reject God and that He is fine with it. But it's actually the complete opposite.

Plus, hell is not a place of complete separation from God in every sense, as Scripture says people's torment happens in the presence of Jesus: "He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb." (Revelation 14:10).

This makes rejecting God far more serious than many realize. That's why we must call people to trust in Christ before it's too late.

Enoch and Elijah both went to heaven in the early parts of the Old Testament, yet there's no record of anyone in Scripture - like Daniel, David, or the Apostles - praying to them, nor any instruction to do so.

It's as if prayer is meant for God alone.

Wow, I didn’t expect so many people to be UPSET with my last post encouraging everyone to trust in Jesus alone to go to heaven, rather than relying on baptism, sacraments, or good works.

We do those things as a result of salvation, not as a means to earn it.

This shows how many professing Christians don’t understand the gospel. But let me explain:

If you think you MUST get baptized, do good works or sacraments to go to heaven, then you’re trusting in those things for your salvation. (These are physical actions prescribed by God, but YOU are still doing it.)

You might also say you trust in Jesus, but your faith is SPLIT,

…with 50% trust in JESUS and 50% trust in YOURSELF.

And you won't go to heaven if you believe that, because you're not FULLY trusting in Jesus to save you, and He is an exclusive Savior (Galatians 5:2).

For heaven: Trust what Jesus did for you, not what you have done for Him!

Wow, what a turn of events! After Ray Comfort released a video calling me out with several false accusations, there have been some notable developments.

I released a response video addressing what was said (I encourage you to watch it), and then noticed Ray DELETED his video from Facebook and made it private on YouTube, making it inaccessible.

This made me wonder - did Ray have a change of mind about it? Because my video wasn’t attacking Ray or calling him a false teacher. In fact, I expressed genuine appreciation for him and mentioned how much I’ve learned from his ministry.

The video was simply a gentle encouragement for us all to be clearer in how we present the gospel. Specifically, so people don’t get the impression that salvation is by “living holy and trusting in Jesus” - but instead understand it’s by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Living holy is the fruit of salvation, not the means to gain it.

In that video, I shared a chat I had with a young man who, after hearing how Ray presents the gospel, had interpreted it as performance-based. I made it clear that I didn’t think that was Ray’s intention, but the conversation was an encouragement toward clarity - so the message of grace isn't mistaken for one of works.

So when Ray took his video down, I wondered - had he reconsidered? Would he reach out so we could have a friendly conversation? I even emailed him again personally (as I had earlier in the week), but received no response.

Instead, 12 hours after Ray pulled down his video, he made it public once more.

Now, even if Ray doesn't take it down again, what I REALLY hope comes from all this, is that Ray will come for a conversation on how we can be clearer in how we explain the response to the gospel.

I think a chat like this would be SO valuable for the wider Christian community to see us talk through how we can all be as clear and faithful as possible in evangelism.

To those reading this: If you’d like to see that happen, feel free to comment or message Ray to encourage him to have that kind of conversation.

Looks like Sam Shamoun is backing out. I reached out to the third-party platform that Sam Shamoun said he was happy to have host our debate on "Are we saved by faith or faithfulness?" The topic has already been agreed upon by the both of us, but now it seems Sam is backing out.

A debate on a topic this important should be conducted formally, meaning both parties have equal time to present their case through opening statements, rebuttals, cross-examination, and closing remarks.

However, Sam is now refusing to engage in a structured debate and insists it be an informal live discussion, without opening statements, rebuttals, or closing remarks.

It seems that if he were confident in defending his position, he would welcome a format that ensures both sides are heard fairly and without continually interrupting each other. A formal structure would also promote respect and order, which is especially important given his ongoing use of personal insults.

Even Sam's latest post calls me "a son of Satan", "a dog", and other disrespectful language.

So for those who have been asking, "When will you debate Sam Shamoun?" The answer is: Sam is the one currently unwilling to engage in a proper, structured debate. I pray the Lord softens his heart, and that he would ultimately come to believe the true gospel.

I hope this encourages you to take up those opportunities to share Jesus:

On a flight to the Philippines in March, we had arrived, and while waiting to leave the aircraft, I struck up a conversation with one of the flight attendants about how to go to heaven.

He came to hear of the gospel. A month later, I received a message from this same flight attendant who said:

“You know what, you change my life from the day i met you in the airplane. I now truly believes in God and his son Jesus Christ.

And i now sharing it with my friends and family member."

Seeds were sown and God saw fit to bring the man to faith through that simple conversation while we were waiting to leave the aircraft. God works in marvelous ways. Please pray for him.
