Back in March, Myanmar was hit with a 7.9 earthquake. A home security camera caught this amazing footage of the fault line rupturing. Nothing like this has ever been caught on film before! The fault line runs parallel to the driveway in the footage. The earthquake starts, and you’ll see the gate in the arch slide open due to the shaking. A few seconds later, you will see ALL the land on the far side of the fault shift six or eight feet to the right! It’s pretty spectacular! The video repeats the footage at double the speed and then again at quadruple the speed. Then the video zooms in on certain things in the background and repeats the footage again so you can see the damage that occurs to things in the distance.

Hey, everyone! My newest video titled ā€œDesert Adventure: The Hunt for an Abandoned Mine in the Joshua Treesā€ goes live tomorrow morning (Saturday the 7th) at 8:00 AM Pacific Time. These pictures are from the video. Click each image to see the entire shot. To reach this remote abandoned mine, I had to hike through a Joshua tree forest on an old road that has been closed to vehicles for decades. I think you’ll enjoy this desert hike to the mine and the interesting things I found along the way. As always, thank you very much for your continued support and interest!

For those of us in the United States (except Arizona and Hawaii), it’s that time of the year again to adjust the clocks. Daylight Saving Time starts tomorrow (Sunday the 9th)!
