Although I never had a religious affiliation with Xmas, it’s always been an incredibly meaningful and joyful time for me. It’s all about the feeling of being surrounded by family and friends that I love so much—and then that gets heightened by the sweets and treats and music and snow and yearly traditions and gifts and lights and decorations. Still to this day, when I need to bring myself some calm or joy, I try to dip back into the feeling of Christmas as a kid. We hope this song captured some of that magic in the song and music video. We’re wishing everyone a very happy holiday season this year and sending you our love.

Well, this feels strange, but we have a new song out.

It's a fun, funky Halloween song that couldn’t contrast more with the feeling here in Asheville as we deal with the devastation from Hurricane Helene. The release was scheduled and sent out for distribution months ago. We thought about stopping it, but decided instead to donate every penny that comes in from this song in the month of October to the organizations that we’ve been working with here in Western North Carolina, BeLoved Asheville and World Central Kitchen So that means if all of you stream the song 1000 times on Spotify, we’ll be able to donate $2. That’s a little music industry humor for you... sometimes we laugh so we don’t cry, am I right? Anyways, this song is just a lighthearted, poppy, seasonal good time, so maybe it’ll bring you a little joy, or at least a little break from the heartbreak. We had so much fun writing, recording, and producing this song together, and I’m proud because I think that fun really shines through.

Hey everyone, it's Silas. I'm incredibly excited to be announcing a new musical project, Pop Fiction (@PopFictionTunes), and my first single, Dopamine Dream, out today everywhere! Don't worry, The Get Right Band is alive and well and will continue to play shows and release music! But I've been wanting to work on music in some different genres with different instrumentation, and Pop Fiction is a really fun opportunity for me to do that. #throwbackthursday to our @nirvana cover with a classical string trio! It's always a pleasure collaborating with @opalstringquartet. This video was made by @AcousticAVL for @mountainxpress in 2017, filmed at @theorangepeel. Doing covers always presents a really interesting challenge... how do you make it enough your own and still honor the original? What things about the original do you want to recreate and what things do you want to change? Obviously we really took some liberties with this one and pushed it pretty far from the original... it felt necessary because the original is kind of so perfect and Kurt's voice is so powerful... the only way to take it one was to put a totally different spin on it.
