06/13/2025: Steam Train Doubleheaders 2
06/20/2025: Southern California Trains 2025

An absolutely incredible weekend! Thank you all who were able to come see the train and visit the museum and for those of you who weren’t able to attend, thanks so much for cheering on the efforts from online! I will hopefully have a video on the move out very soon and a much more in depth video about the 2105 later this year. A huge thank you to everyone at BNSF Railway for storing the locomotives and both BNSF and Metrolink for having 2105 and 5704 moved safely over the railroad. Also, a major thank you to all the hard working volunteers at the SoCal Railway Museum for coordinating the move, getting the locomotives preserved and already beginning work on them. An additional thank you goes out to all the entities involved with preserving both Coaster 2105 and ATSF 5704 including North County Transit District, the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum, Class One Model Works, BNSF Railway, Sherwin Williams, Eagle Enterprises, Mid America Car Inc. and numerous others!

MAY SCHEDULE AND 2105 UPDATE:

Hey, everyone! As I make preparations for the move of former Coaster locomotive 2105 to the SoCal Railway Museum this weekend, a new month has arrived and with it, a brand new video schedule. We'll start off with the schedule and then I will give you a brief update on the move this Saturday:

05/02/2025: Canadian National Freight Trains in Minnesota
05/09/2025: Amtrak Silver Star - A Temporary Farewell
05/16/2025: White Pass and Yukon 73
05/23/2025: Train Talk
05/30/2025: Pacific Surfliner 25th Anniversary Special

In terms of the move of locomotive 2105 this weekend, a number of people have asked me about an exact schedule. The crew will bring BNSF locomotives to Commerce Yard some time early in the morning. This is likely to happen anywhere from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM. Once at Commerce, the crew will pick up the two locomotives bound for the museum and leave Commerce heading east, passing along BNSF's San Bernardino Subdivision through Norwalk, Buena Park, Fullerton, Corona, and Riverside. Travel time from Commerce to Riverside will likely be about an hour, depending on other train traffic. From Riverside, the train will proceed a few miles east to Highgrove where it will leave the San Bernardino Subdivision and travel down Metrolink's Perris Valley Line along Interstate 215 to Perris. The train will not proceed up the Perris Line until both inbound morning Metrolink trains have cleared. Arrival in Perris will likely be late morning to mid day. Keep in mind that schedules for a train like this can vary quite a bit more than a standard passenger train schedule. I will try to keep everyone updated if I have additional information.

Thanks for stopping by! I will see you soon for a look at CN Freight Trains in Minnesota!

2105 UPDATE:

Hey, everyone! I have just been given the go ahead to announce that Coaster 2105 will be moving to the Southern California Railway Museum on Saturday May 3rd! BNSF Railway will be moving locomotives 2105 and ATSF 5704, painted in a special Bicentennial paint scheme, to the museum. Arrival in Perris is anticipated mid day. I've been asked to remind everyone to make sure you stand a safe distance back from the tracks (20 - 25 feet) if you plan on seeing the special move. Thanks for your patience! I'll see you tomorrow for a brand new video and in one week for 2105's arrival at the SoCal Railway Museum!

SCHEDULE CHANGE:

Hello, everyone! I have just completed a brand new video, covering two steam railways that have never been featured on the channel until now: The Pacific Coast Railroad in Santa Margarita, CA and the Norgrove Railway in Arroyo Grande, CA. This video will feature highlights from a two day photography event that was held last week at both railroads. My planned video on the White Pass and Yukon Locomotive 73 will be rescheduled for some time in May. Thanks and I'll see you tomorrow for California Central Coast Steam Trains!

2105 UPDATE:

Hello, everyone! I have an exciting update for you on Coaster locomotive 2105's planned move to the SoCal Railway Museum in Perris, California. Last week, contractors began the process of installing a temporary track connection to enable the 2105, as well as ATSF 5704, to be moved onto museum property by rail. Work on the temporary connection will likely be completed this coming week. Once track work is finished, the move to the museum will be scheduled with BNSF Railway and Metrolink. Included here is a photo, sent to me by a friend, of the progress on the track connection as of this past weekend. Thanks for taking a look, more updates very soon!
