Welcome 10,000 subscribers! š„³š„ This is a huge milestone for me on my YouTube journey.
I started my channel in August of 2022, knowing nothing about how to film, edit, or really anything about making content.
I just knew that I wanted to be a creator instead of a consumer (because I love watching YouTube. Itās my favourite platform). And that I wanted to make connections with other women, and make a difference. Even a small one.
I started off thinking I would have a gardening channel, but it was short lived once the winter came upon us that first year. I shared canning tutorials, collecting wild medicine, and mushroom hunting. Then I began sharing other parts of my life, and my love for vintage cookbooks. I thought maybe I should transition my channel to a cooking channel, using my cookbooks as inspiration. It didnāt last long, I quickly realized it was a mistake. It wasnāt broad enough for me. I would never be happy with only sharing recipes. I almost gave up!
But around Christmas of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 I decided to make all my past videos private (the audio was terrible) and start over with a new direction - homemaking. After all, that is the content I watch the most. It encapsulates all the things I love. It was perfect! And I havenāt looked back.
A huge thank you to all of you! š I wouldnāt have a channel without YOU.
Lots of love, Suzanne

Hi Friends! š· Tomorrowās video for the Handmade Wardrobe Series will be the last video for the series. I will likely add to it over time.
Making this series was a risk for my channel. I went into it knowing that, as it has confused the algorithm, not knowing who to show my videos to. It is always best practice to make videos for a targeted audience, so the algorithm knows who to present your videos to. So my views are on a downward trend at the moment!!
It would make a big difference for my channel if you can leave comments. This helps boost engagement, which helps push out my videos to more people. I would so appreciate if you could help with this, by leaving even the smallest comment on my videos over the next few weeks! š
Iāll be back to my once a week Wednesday schedule starting next week.
Thank you so much for all your support, it means the world to me ā¤ļø

Hi friends! š Tomorrowās video for the āHandmade Wardrobe Seriesā is a Vintage sewing machine tutorial.
If you donāt yet have a sewing machine, I donāt want you to feel intimidated. Iāve been using older machines for years, and thrifting a vintage or manually operated machine is a great affordable option!
In this episode I will be going through all the dials and features of an older machine. All machines will look a little bit different, but they will all have basically the same features. I added timestamps to the video, so that you can go back and find the answer you are looking for.
If you already own a machine, and are super savvy with it (I know some of you are experienced sewers!) you might not need to view this video. My goal is to make sewing approachable for a beginner sewer, as we learn to sew our own clothes together!
Iām so excited about this series, and I want to say a big thank you for all the support! ā¤ļø

Big News! I will have a new schedule ā¬ļø I will be sharing a āHandmade Wardrobeā series on my channel on Fridays, while keeping my regular Wednesday videos for my homemaking vlogs.
I have begun filming it, as this is my sewing season (while not busy on our farm outdoors).
This series is intended for the beginner, and Iāll be sharing everything from essential tools and equipment, how to use a sewing machine, and so much more!
If this doesnāt interest you, that is fine. Just keep watching my Wednesday videos!
I will have a playlist for this series. Iāll do as much as I can, for this season of my life, then add to it in the future. š
Have a great day!

Update on the Red Dress (from my clothing declutter video )
https://youtu.be/EihXtZY5N4M
I dyed the dress using a green dye (rit dye in peacock green) and it turned out this beautiful, rich, deep, terra cotta colour, which I absolutely LOVE! I will most definitely be wearing this dress so much more š
Donāt be scared to dye a piece of clothing that you love the style of, but the colour is slightly off. This dress was beautiful, but just didnāt get worn because Iām just not into red!
Hope you are having a beautiful day ā¤ļø

Is a handmade wardrobe and sewing a topic that would interest you on my channel?
Thank you so much for all the positive response to my video today! ā¤ļø You guys are so kind to me. I was actually expecting some nasty comments, possibly, on this video. It is quite vulnerable.
However, you have all given me so much kindness and grace. I also received a lot of comments about my hand sewn items, and itās got me wondering if any of you would be interested in learning to sew? Itās something that I love to do, and Iāve made a lot of progress with, but want to continue learning.
If you would be interested in me doing a few videos or a new series on making a handmade wardrobe, or items for your home - let me know in the comments!
P.S. this is a sneak peak at an upcoming video. I made a valance for my kitchen!

Hi Friends! I have a bonus video for you this Friday, as well as my usual Wednesday video.
Since doing 2 videos a week for December, it got me on a roll with filming. I have my videos filmed all the way to the end of January, so this will allow me to take a small break from filming while I get back into my normal routine of work and driving my kids to and from school.
Hope you all enjoyed the holidays and feel inspired for the new year! š
