Today on the wonderful stream with Dr Victoria Taylor we had a new viewer slide into the sidebar. From his first comment, it was clear he had already made his mind up about the book - essentially, 5 minutes in, he had dismissed both Victoria and her research. This before having even picked up the book (432 pages), let alone having read it.

He also kept bringing up his own 45 years studying the Battle of Britain, and indeed his own books.

The point of this comment, is that with a better attitude I would have been more than happy to make contact with the chap and invite him on as a guest himself one day, to let him talk about his work. Frankly, I wouldn't do that now. Watching his interactions with me and other sidebar warriors, he did everything wrong in terms of making a good first impression. Maybe his points were valid, but there's a way of behaving of WW2TV and his tone was ill-judged from the outset.

Cheers everyone

I have an opening on May 14th or 15th for a livestream guest. I am thinking it should be a History creator of some kind who may benefit from the small amount of exposure WW2TV can bring. So anyone with a podcast, YT channel, museum or project that would like to talk to me, please get in touch

I've had to postpone the Operation Veritable panel show, because David O'Keefe is under the weather

A completely random question. Back in the day, I used to do a little Rock n Roll DJing on the side. If I was to host a private music webinar where I played classic 1950s Rock n Roll and Rockabilly songs, would anyone be interested in listening? This would be via the Streamyard platform I normally use, but not streamed to YouTube. This would be a private online event - I can have up to 1000 guests and I would send a link out to people to join me

Hi everyone. As we head towards February and March I will be continuing a rather random approach to scheduling on the channel. I.e. shows that do not necessarily fit into neat theme weeks. There are a couple of reasons for this, one being something of a backlog of subjects I want to cover that don't fit in to specific themes. The second being I will almost certainly have to reschedule some of the shows over the next few weeks to accommodate an ongoing family situation back in England. I will keep you all informed, and rest assured there will be LOTS of new content, I just may need to shift dates around a little.

Keep watching everyone

I'm rather baffled and annoyed by some of the negative comments about yesterday's 6888 show with Kevin Hymel. Indeed, I had to ban a couple of people for using offensive/racist language.

The most common word used in these comments was "woke", along with "fake", "nonsense" etc.

I could sort of see the point of these negative comments if the story was fabricated, but it's true. The unit existed, they performed an important role and represent the thousands of African-American WACs who served their country in WW2. Are there really people out there who don't want to watch war films unless the heroes/protagonists are white males? If so, why not? Please explain it to me like I am 5.

As for me, negative comments just push me to bring you even more stories of indigenous peoples, minorities and women at war. Why? Because they need to be told

Enjoy what's left of the weekend my friends

Just a quick comment. If a specific subject/unit/campaign/country/commander has not been covered on WW2TV, it does not necessarily mean I'm not interested in the subject.

Sometimes, it is because I have not been able to find a suitable guest historian, but more commonly, the subject is on my ever-growing list, and I just haven't got round to it yet. Scheduling subjects is a rather complicated balancing act. I want to cover the more niche subjects, but I must also be aware of what draws views and viewers in. Perennial favourites like Midway, Arnhem, DDay, SAS, US Marines etc are of course not "new" subjects and there is plenty already said, BUT they will be popular videos. As I say, it's about balance.

Please do also remember I am a one-man-band. I do everything on WW2TV: hosting, emails, graphics, social-media - the whole kit and caboodle. I work at this pretty-much 7 days a week

Following on from various discussions on the channel. Here is a question for you, how would you rate Montgomery as a Commander in WW2? Which of the following statements best describes your gut feeling.

This is about his abilities, not whether he was a nice person or a
