💬 Would You Like to Share a Testimonial? 💬
Hi everyone! I'm adding a small testimonial section to my website and would love to include a few kind words from members of this creative community.
If you've enjoyed my YouTube tutorials, printable guides, or felt inspired by my watercolor and ink art, and you'd like to share a short testimonial, I’d be so grateful!
Here’s what you can include in your testimonial:
A sentence or two about your experience (What did you enjoy? What helped you most?)
What makes this community or my teaching style special to you
How it's impacted your creativity or confidence
Please include your first name and the first initial of your last name (e.g., Jessica M.), so I can attribute your testimonial properly.
You can leave your testimonial in the comments below, or send it to me directly by emailing it to [email protected]
Thank you for being part of this whimsical journey with me! 🎨💕

Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know that my Facebook account, Facebook art page, and private Facebook art group have all been suspended without any clear explanation from The Facebook Team. I’ve submitted an appeal, which was supposed to be reviewed within 24 hours — but it’s now been five days and I still haven’t received a response. As of now, I’m completely locked out of Facebook, and I think my private Facebook group is frozen as well.
I know many of us connected there regularly, and I am sorry for the sudden silence. Please know this situation is out of my control, and I’m still hoping it will be resolved. But I also want to make sure we have a safe, creative place to stay connected — no matter what happens with Facebook.
That’s why I’m currently building a new member area right on my website. Both my website and the new member area on it are under construction. The member area will serve a similar purpose to our Facebook group — a place to share art, ideas, and inspiration.
The member area on my website is not a paid membership.
It’s not Patreon, and there are no tiers.
It’s simply a private community space for whimsical watercolor.
I’ll share more details very soon about how to join once it’s ready.
In the meantime, thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and ongoing support.
Warm regards,
Tracey 🌸

Starting with watercolor can feel tricky, but with a few basic techniques and tips, you’ll be creating art in no time.
1. Essential Tips to Get Started
Paper Matters: Use watercolor paper (at least 140 lb/300 gsm) to avoid buckling and ensure smooth blending.
Brush Basics: A medium round brush (I use a size 6) and a flat brush are good choices for beginners.
Less Is More: Start with a limited palette to practice mixing colors and creating harmony. I use Permanent Red, Cobalt Blue, and Yellow.
Water Control: Practice balancing pigment and water. Too much water can make colors look washed out and pale, while too little can create harsh edges and dark colors.
Layering: Let layers dry completely before adding more to avoid muddy colors and color bleed.
Test Swatches: Always test colors on scrap paper to see how they look when dry.
2. Simple Techniques to Practice
Wet-on-Wet: Wet the paper first, then add color for soft, blended effects.
Wet-on-Dry: Paint on dry paper for crisp, defined shapes.
Graded Wash: Create a gradient by diluting color as you move down the page.
Lifting Color: Dab with a clean, damp brush or paper towel to lift excess pigment while still wet.
3. Recommended YouTubeVideo Tutorials
Jenna Rainey: Great for technique breakdowns and beginner-friendly projects.
The Mind of Watercolor: Excellent explanations and practical advice.
Emma Lefebvre: Beautiful and simple step-by-step tutorials.
4. Practice Makes Progress!
Keep practicing, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Every piece teaches you something new.

Hi Everyone,
I’m writing to let you know that I’m taking a little creative break from posting videos on YouTube. It’s been an amazing journey so far, and I feel it’s time for me to step back and refocus on some exciting new projects I’ve been planning.
I still have two videos that I’ll be sharing soon (I can’t wait for you to see them!), but after that, I’ll be taking some time to recharge and dive into creating new art, guides, and the how-to book I’ve been planning.
This break is all about reconnecting with the joy of making — and I’m excited to return with fresh ideas and energy when the time feels right. In the meantime, if you’d like to stay connected, I’ll be sharing updates through my newsletter and private Facebook group.
Thank you so much for your support and understanding. Your presence means the world to me, and I can’t wait to share what’s next with you!
With love and gratitude,
Tracey 💛
