Luis RaĂșl Marrero, known professionally as Funky, is a 2-time Latin Grammy nominated rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. Marrero was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico and raised in the Barrio Palmarejo of Corozal, Puerto Rico.

Funky began his career as a music producer, working alongside Vico C for the album "Aquel Que HabĂa Muerto", which was awarded Rap Album of the Year at the 1999 Latin Billboard Awards. Three years later, His first Solo Album, âFunkytownâ, was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the Christian Album of the Year Category. (2002)
