Land in South Africa, as in many other countries across the continent is a deeply complex and emotional issue, rooted in a painful history of colonialism, dispossession, and inequality.

The country’s new expropriation law has sparked national debate, with many seeing it as a long-overdue step toward justice, while others fear it could lead to greater instability.

For some, the land represents a debt owed due to the brutal legacy of forced removals and apartheid-era land theft. For others, particularly those who inherited land without personally participating in the injustices of the past, the situation feels unfair and threatening.

As South Africa continues to grapple with the shortcomings of a government that struggles to uphold the core values of the ANC, public frustration is growing — and so is the demand for meaningful change.

In this Street Debate, we spoke to young South Africans, and they shared their thoughts! Have a look here 👉🏽 https://youtu.be/KBTPW8RzTmc

What are your thoughts about this issue, should land be redistributed?

Cities across Africa are growing rapidly — and with that growth comes serious urban challenges.

In Ghana, we spoke to young people about what it's really like to live in a city struggling with transportation issues and the pressures of a fast-growing population.

Public transport is unreliable, private transport is too expensive for many — especially students — and congested roads make it difficult even for Uber drivers to navigate.

Poor urban planning is costing energy, money, and even lives.

In the heart of Accra, residents voice their frustration over mounting sanitation issues, where overflowing bins and clogged drains have become part of daily life.

Then there’s the traffic — school kids are spending more time in traffic than in class.

Why does it feel like the city’s growing faster than the plans to fix it?

In Uganda, we catch a ride on an eco-friendly bus that’s changing how people think about getting around.

And back in Accra, we link up with the Buzstopboys — a crew of local legends cleaning up the streets and showing what real community power looks like.
