Hi all! Just a quick update for you all. I have received well over 10 times the volume of orders I ever expected since this fundraising began. Please bear with me as a process all of these print orders and donations. I spent 12 hours at my laptop yesterday working on this, and woke up this morning with nearly DOUBLE the orders I had when I went to bed last night. I am absolutely amazed and floored⊠I cannot thank you all enough for all of your contributions, but it is a lot to go through, so it could take me days to get to some of your orders.
If you have emailed or messaged me, I will try my best to get to it but I canât make any promises due to the sheer volume Iâm getting right now.
My business credit card is maxed out from all these print orders and donations so I am trying to pay it off and free up credit at the moment to continue ordering and donating.
This rate is impossible to keep up with over the long term, so as much as I hate to do it, I am cutting the fundraiser short⊠it will last until the end of October now. That way those of you who havenât ordered yet have a few more days to get your orders in if youâd like. I would love to continue this until the end of the year as originally planned, but I already have so much work cut out for me as it is, that would be entirely unrealistic to keep up with. As much as Iâd like to, I simply canât.
Thank you all so much for your contributions⊠we have made a REAL difference. I donât have the numbers tallied yet for today but just based on the number of orders Iâm guessing weâve raised over $10,000 by now. And there are still 5 days left, so letâs keep it up! Get those orders in, and letâs make that number $20,000, or $30,000! If you want a print of 399, now is the time to get it!!
Thank you all, and I will continue to keep you updated.

Many of you may have already heard the news by now, but if you havenât, our beloved Grizzly 399 was struck and killed by a vehicle. Her cub is alone and its location is unknown.
399 meant a lot to many of us. She was the bear that made me fall in love with bears. An icon and an inspiration to millions around the world. She gave us all hope that grizzly bears and humans could live side by side, as those in Jackson Hole did with her for so many years. Grizzly 399 was truly one of a kind⊠the Tetons are never going to be the same.
To honor her legacy, Iâve decided that for the rest of October, 100% of profits made on sales of the attached photo of her will be donated to Vital Ground, a Montana-based nonprofit dedicated to protecting grizzly bear habitat and reducing human-bear conflicts. If youâd like to order a print of this photo, here is the link: www.wattswildlifephotography.com/prints/p/long-livâŠ. Iâll send you a screenshot confirmation that Iâve donated the profits once I get your order in and processed (this could take a few days).
As for 399, rest in peace, Queen. I can never repay you for all the memories, friendships, and more that youâve brought me. You will be adored and missed forever.

www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/89âŠ
Hi everyone! I hope youâre having a great start to the week. This isnât really photography related, but I wanted to share it with you anyways. This bill (HR 8998) recently passed the House and now goes on to the Senate. If passed, it would strip protections from grizzly bears in the lower 48, allowing people to hunt them, and cut funding for grizzly bear restoration in the North Cascades. It would be extremely detrimental to grizzly bears, wolves, and more in the lower 48. If you have time and want to protect wildlife, particularly carnivores in the western US, please reach out to your respective Senators and let them know you are against HR 8998... our country's bears depend on this đ
