CAFE regulations means 2023 is your absolute last chance to get the last remaining naturally aspirated Toyota V8 engine in America: The Lexus GX460. Why do some other manufacturers still have V8s on the market? Because they pay a fine or "penalty" annually to NHTSA for producing a "non-efficient fleet". Technically, Toyota could pay a fine and produce something nice like a new V8 or even a twin turbo V8... if they pay the fine. BUT for now, the GX460 currently on dealer lots is the "last" of the mighty Toyota V8 in a Toyota truck or SUV. No other new V8 Toyota truck or SUV is being sold.

The GX460 next to the 4Runner Off-Road. BOTH have KDSS, ie front and rear sway-bar disconnects. The new Landcruiser 250 only disconnects the front sway bar. Has Toyota's cost cutting gone too far? These 2 NA powertrains will arguably last forever. What of the new generation of turbo hybrid Landcruisers and 4runners? Will Toyota prove everyone wrong?

Seriously DV8? First the DV8 bumper rips the GX460 radiator support. Now the DV8 bumper is tearing itself apart. Oh well.. off to Aaron the welder soon to get it fixed and to hopefully reinforce it so this won't happen again... stay tuned for an upcoming video. Until then AVOID DV8 front bumpers for your Lexus GX460 😢
