Microphone related. So the Stellar X2 VINTAGE is now $136. That's actually a good deal imo. Remember the VINTAGE is different from the regular Stellar X2 www.amazon.com/Stellar-Large-Diaphragm-Cardioid-Co… Imo this is the pricepoint it should have been all along :P

And another random AUDIO-related post of the day:

Diminishing returns are a real thing. So don’t fall into the trap. There’s a hilarious EDC video by Nick Shabazz called The Curve of Diminishing Returns in EDC Gear—start at the 1-minute mark. It’s seriously hilarious. But it’s also dead-on when it comes to audio gear too. There’s definitely a point where spending more money doesn’t actually get you better sound.

Here’s something I like to do. Whenever there’s a new—or old—ridiculously expensive mic being featured, I listen to the comparisons. But not just the expensive mic—I listen closely to the other mics in the video. Example? The U87. Now go listen to the other mics in those same videos. I’ve heard mics that sounded just as good, sometimes even better. Then I check the price. In one case, the KSM32 (usually around $299 used) and a $99 mic that looks like a big fat bee both held their own against the $3695 U87. (Subjective, just MY thoughts. That KSM32 kicks so much fucking tail.)

There’s another mic channel—not Podcastage 😄—a different one. He features some seriously high-end and modded mics—$3K, $4K, $5K stuff. And they sound great. But then you stumble on a video where he covers this tiny $150 mic called the CM4… and honestly? Imo it sounds great on his voice. But I kid you not, it hangs with quite a few of his mics that easily cost 30 times more.

Diminishing returns are real.

Random thought of the day. Bought these protein bars at Costco. Holy hell. These are delicious. They have a marshmallow-ish filling inside. 17 grams of WHEY protein (NOT Soy protein), 4% fat, 140 calories. Honestly these things are delicious. Name = Built Puff. As with all things on my channel I'm not endorsed, sponsored or monetized; just saying this thing tastes fantastic as far as protein bars go :D

Random cleaning tip for cleaning the house.

So today… I tried the Aurikatariina technique for mopping the house—basically, she uses a squeegee to clean the floors, and honestly, it's kind of brilliant.
But then I had a random idea… and it actually worked.

I grabbed two microfiber cloths, soaked them in water and cleaning solution, then stuck one on each foot—and just started walking around the house.
Yep, I was basically mopping by walking.

It was surprisingly easy, and weirdly felt like a bit of a workout.
That’s it. Just had to share. 😅

EDC related post.

Not sure if people know this, but the Titanium version of Norton's U.C.S. is finally in stock. It might’ve been available for a while, but I had no idea—it honestly felt like it was out of stock for five years. I checked in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and only saw the plastic ones. This prybar is awesome. I don’t work for the company, but it’s seriously good. It doesn’t bend, even under a lot of pressure, which is wild considering how thin and light it is. Great prybar—only around $9. Totally worth it. Just make sure you get the Titanium version. countycomm.com/products/nortons-u-c-s-universal-cl…

Stock and investing post, aka boring

Honestly, with the shitstorm we’ve been seeing and UNCERTAINTY all hecking day, might as well just park it in SGOV. It’s basically as safe as a CD or a bank, but gives you better rates—and you can’t lose money. Not a scam, it’s just U.S. treasury stuff. Park it here until we know more.
