This was a record for the amount of videos I've made in 2 days and it was around 30 hours of work in the space of 48 hours so I'm very happy to be on the other side of it! The transcribing and editing is brutal! Thank you to all who have been following the videos as they release. I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on the album and your favourites - let me know in the comments! 👇
My favourites - 1. Umbra - This song is really unique with the awesome cowbell groove. 2. De Profundis Borealus - this was so fun to play and worked with my playing style instantly. 3. Excelsis - didn't like it too much at first but it's really growing on me and I can't get it out of my head. Tasty fills too!
The easiest song - Marks Of The Evil One. Straight forward rock groove, one fill to know your way around.
The hardest song - Umbra. I found the chorus extremely tough with the unrelenting ride - this felt very unatural and against my playing style. As it was the last song I tackled, the approaching time limit had me stressed and I kept making stupid mistakes. I got there eventually and just in time!
I'm mentaly drained now - a good night sleep is needed and then, we are back to normal Drumscribe scheduling tomorrow with Metal Monday! It should be a 5-star crowd pleaser so check back in at 6pm UK time to see what it is!

These technical, challenging songs are always a huge time commitment, but every membership, like, comment, share, and view makes it 100% worth it. The more support the channel gets, the more of these I can tackle—so every bit helps!
I plan to cover more Tool in the near future, along with bands like Dream Theater, Rush, and Meshuggah. Stay tuned!
I was honestly a bit apprehensive about transcribing this one because of all the intricate percussive elements—but once I got into it, unraveling what Danny Carey was doing felt like solving a deeply satisfying puzzle. Starting with the simpler sections helped build momentum, and before I knew it, I was all in. Now I’m hooked and itching to dive into more Tool tracks!
