Onion : A Humble SuperFood
If you like consuming raw onion, then today we will tell you the best way to get maximum
benets from it. And if you're not an onion lover, you might end up becoming one by the end of this
video.
Don't Over-Peel Your Onion
Generally, while peeling onions, we discard the outer papery peel and the thin, eshy red layer
attached to it. But little do we know that these two layers contain 10 to 48 times more quercetin, a
potent antioxidant, than the rest of the onion.
You might ask how we can eat the outermost papery peel?
Well you should one way is to grind it into a powder and use it in soups and dishes to maximize its
benets.
Let's dive deeper into what makes this humble superfood so special
1. A Potent Antioxidant ā Quercetin
Quercetin is known for boosting the immune system. In fact, it is ve times more eective than
Vitamin C in ghting free radicals in the body and its in abudent in rst two layer of onion
ā Quercetin content per 100g:
ā Outer peel & rst eshy layer: 8,347.7 mg
ā Rest of the onion: 26 mg
To give a comparison 100 gm broccoli only consists of 3mg quercetin
Some researchers have observed that quercetinās structure resembles hydroxychloroquine, a drug
initially tested for COVID-19 treatment.
2. Supports Testosterone Levels
As we age, our Leydig cells become less eective, and the aromatase enzyme starts converting
testosterone into estrogen. High quantity of Quercetin helps counteract this process, supporting
healthy testosterone levels.
3. May Reduce Chemotherapy-Related Toxicity
Some reports suggest that broad-spectrum antioxidants, especially quercetin in onions, may help
reduce chemotherapy-related toxicity, though conclusive human trials are still lacking.
4. Protects Brain Health
Anthocyanins, present in red onions, help protect brain cells from oxidative stress, potentially
slowing cognitive decline. They may also reduce the risk of Alzheimerās and Parkinsonās diseases.
5. Antibacterial, Antidiabetic & Anti-Inammatory Eects
Quercetin and other avonoids in onions have been shown to possess antibacterial, antidiabetic, and
anti-inammatory properties.
6. May Help Prevent Premature Hair Greying
Hair greying occurs due to hydrogen peroxide (HāOā) buildup and melanin depletion in hair follicles.
As we age, the enzyme catalase, which breaks down HāOā, decreases, leading to premature greying.
There has been many research that suggests that quercetin helps reduce HāOā buildup, potentially
slowing the greying process.
7. Strengthens Bones
Consuming one raw onion daily can increase bone density by 5% in women, reducing the risk of bone
fractures by 20%, thanks to its rich avonoid content.

Society has told us an incomplete story.
We were led to believe that youth is the pinnacle of existence, that the late 30s and early 40s mark the beginning of decline. That beyond this point, if you have not made something big in life then rest of the life is merely a stage for repentance, a place where past choices weigh heavy on the soul. And so, and most of us reflect upon our lives through this lens, Our triumphs and failures, too, are measured against this illusion.
But reality is far more profound. Life is not meant to conform to a predetermined mould it is an evolving journey, one that unfolds only for those who dare to become the most authentic version of themselves.
Persistence is the law, for the path is never shaped by your desires alone it manifests as you align closer to your own truth.
Here i wish to talk about actor Christoph Waltz born in Vienna, 1956. By 20, he had begun working in German television. For thirty years, he toiled in obscurity, playing minor roles, struggling. And then, at fifty-three, life pivoted.
Quentin Tarantino cast him as Col. Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds. One role. One film. And destiny transformed. An Oscar on his very first international attempt.
Soon after, he became a Bond villain, then a name spoken in the same breath as cinematic legends. The world watched in astonishment "Where had this extraordinary actor been all this time?"
And thatās the truth no one tells you. The second half of your life isnāt a slow decline itās a whole damn revolution.
So stop seeking validation from a story designed to break you. Rip that script to shreds. Write your own.

How Shahista Khan Transformed Bengalās Demographics in Just 30 Years
In 1660, Aurangzeb appointed his uncle, Shahista Khan, as the Subedar of Deccan to defeat Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. However, instead of victory, he faced humiliationāShivajiās forces killed his son and chopped off four fingers of his hand. Defeated and disgraced, he fled back to Delhi.
Later, he was sent to present-day Bangladesh, where, unfortunately, no unified Hindu kingdom existed to resist him. Seizing the opportunity, he overturned the regionās demographics within just 30 years.
Under the Hanafi Islamic law, he imposed the Kharaj tax, extracting up to 50% of the agricultural produce from Hindus. Those who couldnāt pay had their lands seized or were forced to convert.
Unlike other Mughal administrators, he cunningly chose not to impose Persian as the official language but allowed Bengali to continue, making conversions more seamless.
He also invited Yemenās Sufi saint Shah Jalal and his 360 Awliyas, who mimicked Buddhist Tantra and Hindu Bhakti traditions, performing false miracles to convert local tribal communities on a mass scale.
Furthermore, he established Sufi khanqahs in every village, ensuring that newly converted individuals received food, shelter, and social inclusion, preventing them from returning to their original faith.

Why Sleeping Early & Waking Up Early is Pure Science, Not Just a traditional parental advice.
In India, parents often give a traditional piece of advice for every problem: "First, start sleeping early and waking up early." To kids, this advice seems oversimplified and illogical, but in reality, it is rooted in pure science.
Our body follows a natural circadian rhythm, where the first rays of the sun trigger the Cortisol Awakening Response. This stress hormone prepares our body to start the day, and then gradually declines until midnight, reaching its lowest levels to ensure high-quality deep REM sleep.
However, when we wake up late, this cortisol awakening response gets triggered twice bonce at sunrise and again when we actually wake up keeping cortisol levels elevated throughout the day.
Staying up late further disrupts its natural decline, affecting deep REM sleep. As a result, the brain's emotional center (amygdala) and memory center (hippocampus) become over-exhausted, leading to reduced problem-solving skills and the onset of cognitive decline

Why Did Everything in UP Remain the Same, While Punjab and Haryana Freed Themselves from Communal Tensions?
If we take the example of Holi, Mohammad Ali and Shaukat Ali led a campaign to label Hindu festivals as "Kufr. Particularly in 1912, 1926, 1932, and 1946, Holi processions were obstructed across UP, leading to riots.
UP, which was once the epicenter of the Pakistan movement, where leaders like Allama Iqbal and Liaquat Ali Khan fought for the creation of Pakistan, saw only 12% of its Muslim population migrate to the newly formed country. The rest of the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb remained intact. Despite such a bloody partition, Hindus in UP are still facing the same issues today.
On the other hand, people in Punjab and Haryana should be grateful to their ancestors, who ensured that 97% of the so-called Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb moved to Pakistan. This resulted in Hindus and Sikhs being freed from riots and communal tensions. That is why, today, Holi, Diwali, and Vaisakhi are celebrated freely in Punjab and Haryana, and you rarely, if ever, hear about communal tensions in these regions.

The 1857 rebellion has layers of complexity that not many people know about, Iāve distilled as much key insights as I could into this one-minute, hereās the link.

The great uprising of 1857 was highly effective in its early stages because the rebellion was decentralized, forcing the East India Company to fight on multiple fronts simultaneously.
However, many Hindu rulers of smaller princely states, driven by wishful thinking, made a strategic mistake by choosing the last Mughal emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar, as their sovereign going against their own cultural memory.
By that time, Bahadur Shah Zafar was merely a symbolic, weakened ruler whose ancestors had oppressed Hindus for centuries. Since 1803, he had been surviving on a pension from the British, and before that, Delhi had already been won by the Marathas, who had raised the saffron flag over the city.
This was a major reason why the Sikhs fought alongside the British in the 1857 uprising.
One such ruler was Raja Nahar Singh of the Ballabhgarh state. Influenced by the Nawab of Farrukhnagar, Malik Muhammad Khan, he accepted Bahadur Shah Zafar's sovereignty. However, as soon as the East India Company recaptured the Delhi fort, the same Nawab Malik sided with the British, luring Nahar Singh to Delhi, where he was subsequently hanged.

AGEs : Naam to shayad nahi suna hoga.
In the early 1900s, scientists stumbled upon a key factor in human aging glycation. Itās a biochemical reaction that kicks off when blood sugar spikes. This sugar in the bloodstream binds with proteins and lipids, creating glycated end products, known as AGEs (Advanced Glycation End Products). These unstable molecules slowly build up around healthy tissues, damaging them over time. This damage triggers inflammation, and thatās when the body starts to age.
In 1912, after the discovery of the Maillard reaction, scientists realized that AGEs donāt just form naturally in our bodies. We also consume them through high-protein and high-fat foods, especially when theyāre cooked at high temperaturesāthink grilling, frying, roasting, or baking. The recommended maximum limit for AGE intake from food is around 15,000 units. But you will be shocked to know that
100g of grilled pork or beef contains about 90,000 AGE units.
100g of grilled chicken has around 60,000 AGE units.
100g of whey protein packs roughly 30,000 AGE units.
On the flip side, plant-based foods have significantly lower AGE levels:
100g of dal-rice contains about 5,000 AGE units.
100g of raw vegetables (like carrots, spinach, or broccoli) has almost negligible AGEs around 500 or even less.
And processed or packaged foods? Donāt even get me started. Theyāre loaded with AGEs, sometimes even added deliberately for flavor enhancement.
If you want to age like fine wine, be mindful of what you eat. Itās not just about living longer itās about living better. Your body is a reflection of your choices. Choose wisely. š±
