LATEST VIDEO

Having done a video for a full deep clean of your drivetrain, I thought I should show you how I maintain my own personal bike chains. I clean and lube my chain at the same time. Doing this 2 minute job when needed massively reduces the build up of muck on your chain and the need to thoroughly clean as often.

WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON AT BROCKLEY BIKES 2023

G'Day Viewers...

Let me start by saying a MASSIVE THANK YOU to every one of you for supporting my channel. Whether that be 10 years ago when I first uploaded my wheel building and bike building videos or you have just come on board with a recent video, it's all of you. Brockley Bikes has finally, made the minimum qualifying criteria for making money directly from YouTube. The last 18 months has been a rollercoaster ride... endless hours of work learning all the aspects of making informative and interesting videos, each time endeavouring to up my game in front of the camera. I'm learning too...

I absolutely love having the opportunity to share the knowledge, skills and experiences on bike maintenance gained over the last 40 years. It doesn't pay the bills yet and because of that I have had to focus on customers coming through the door with money to build and fix their bikes the last six months. It has been the busiest summer since before Covid struck us all. This gives me the financial ability to continue making videos while still being hands on in the workshop. It also has the added advantage of making content about current real life bike maintenance.

Diving into the unknown which is YouTube is difficult, at times thinking it's not going anywhere. Your belief in what I have to say and teach you has held everything together. So again, I doff my hat in gratitude for watching, subscribing and engaging through likes and comments. If I was a rich man, I'd do it just for that!

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for taking a long time to respond to your comments this summer gone. If I haven't already replied to you, I will be very soon.

Happy Spannering,

Ashley

WHEEL BUILDING POLL

Earlier in the year I put a poll up here for you, the viewers to help me work out what type of videos you would like me to make for you. There wasn't much input with only 3 people voting initially followed by another 2 recently. Thank you to those who took the time to get involved. Now it is time for everyone reading this to help me out so I can bring you the content to most suit your needs.

I have done 2 on drivetrain cleaning, 1 on puncture repair with a shorter one to come. 'WHEEL BUILDING TIPS' is the only one from that initial poll to cover. If you are seeking knowledge on the subject of wheel building it would be a massive help to me if you could take the time to cast your vote below. Feel free to elaborate in the comments to help me narrow down the detail of the topic.
