Vertigo Shot is my love letter to the movies, designed to introduce you to interesting things you never knew, help you find your next favorite, or reconnect with an old favorite in a new way.
Itâs a combination of short facts and more in depth video essays (sometimes serious, sometimes not so much) to help spread all the enjoyment the world of cinema has to offer.
I hope you find it interesting, informative, and entertaining.
-About The Channel Name-
The âvertigo shotâ refers to a shot Director Alfred Hitchcock invented for his film Vertigo. Itâs achieved by zooming in on a subject while simultaneously moving the camera back from (or toward) the subject on a dolly. And thatâs what this chancel doesâŚ.zooms in to explore whatâs happening inside the frame (the movies themselves) while pulling back to examine whatâs happening outside of it (the people who made them, the coincidences throughout film history, etc.). Examples of the Vertigo Shot are in the links section.
