Hello friends,
I know how confusing yarn labels can be, especially for beginner knitters. All those numbers can make it tricky to pick the right yarn, often leading to buying the wrong one and spending extra time trying to adjust it to the pattern.

That’s why in this week’s Esenotes, I’m sharing how I read yarn labels when substituting the recommended yarn in a pattern.

I hope these tips make things a little easier for you! 🥰

Hey friends!
I’ve just published a new Esenote, and it’s all about my cotton-wool yarn experiments! If you’ve ever struggled with overheating in your sweaters, this one’s for you. I tested 4 most popular yarn blends to see how they compare to pure wool—and yes, I found a true gem!

If you’re not already subscribed to Esenotes, don’t worry—you can still read it here: juliapiro.com/blogs/esenotes/basta-overheating-4-c…

Let me know what you think in the comments, and feel free to share your own yarn discoveries!

Hello friends! 🌿

I just wanted to let you know that two Esenotes about tweed yarns are now up on my new website.

The first one is about lighter options, and the second focuses on medium and bulky weights. I’ve also shared a little sneak peek of two yarns I’ll be using in upcoming tutorials.

These Esenotes feature 10 yarns I’ve carefully selected for their natural fibers, worldwide availability, and reasonable prices. I wanted to show you how the right yarn can bring so much charm to even the simplest design, without needing tricky stitch patterns.

📌 Esenote “More gorgeous tweed yarns (Part 2)”

The new tutorial is here! 🌟

If you’ve been dreaming of knitting your first sweater or you’re curious about trying a circular yoke - the First Star sweater is the perfect place to start.

I’m already planning a follow-up design featuring the same construction but with a textured stitch pattern (or maybe even a touch of simple colorwork). It’ll be a fun challenge for all of us, but first, let’s master this one together.

Thank you for being here 💛

Hi friends 💛
I’m brainstorming for my next Esenote (a free weekly email newsletter), and I’ve got an idea: a list of the most popular and widely available TWEED yarns.

I’ll feature some budget-friendly favorites and pair them with pattern ideas from famous designers for each one, too!
But I need your help - what’s your favorite tweed yarn? 💬

Hello friends!
I’m working on a video tutorial for the First Star Sweater and plan to release it in just a few weeks!

This pattern is perfect if you’re thinking about knitting your first sweater or trying a round yoke for the first time. It’s a simple, welcoming design that also sets you up for future colorwork yokes.

There will be two versions: one with a classic crew neck and one with a cozy mock neck. Curious to know which one do you prefer 💬

See you very soon!
Julia

P.S. Just a note - the pink lines you see in the first mint version are lifelines, not color stripes 🤗
