Channel anniversary!
Two years ago today I posted the first video on this channel. I simply wanted to tell the story of the Nike Streakfly. Luckily for me that video, as rough as it was, seemed to resonate with enough people that my next video did better... and so on. 730 days, 276 videos and 18k+ subscribers here we are. Thank you everyone for the continued support! 🙏🏻

Question for the community.
I'm a long form creator and I found in 2024 that a video 18-22mins is around my optimal sweet spot to get the level of detail I want yet still make it flow in a narrative and not drag (too much). I do often end up cutting a lot out though, which I do publish sometimes as members only "deleted scenes", at least the stuff that has value on it's own.
That being said, I have seen a bunch of requests for longer videos for me. So out of curiosity, I'm asking all of you...

Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season this year. I'll be posting through the holidays with some year end content, looking back on 2024, and some content looking ahead into 2025.
Thank you everyone for an amazing year on the channel. 🙏🏻 💪🏻 🤙🏻

It's Novablast 5 week!
I've spent the entire past week in the Asics Novablast 5, every run of all types, with now over 50 miles into the shoe. I have a range of thoughts on this one. Next week is ALL Novablast content;
Sunday, Nov 17 = Novablast 5 50mi review
Monday, Nov 18 = Novablast 5 vs Novablast 4 (this is will be a deep dive)
Wednesday, Nov 20 = Novablast 5 vs Superblast 2
Friday, Nov 22 = Novablast 5 vs Pegasus Plus (this will make sense when I get there)
Sunday, Nov 24 = TRE24 Review (not only Novablast, but it will come up I'm sure)*
* FYI, I won't be attending TRE24, instead I'll be covering it from afar via all of the great Shoetuber coverage and via some people I'm now connected with that will be on the ground there in person.
The Novablast 5 is one of the bigger releases of 2025 and a big week on the channel with a lot of shoe review content.

About shakeout runs.
In my recent video, “2024 NYC Marathon Super Shoe Observations,” I made a snarky comment about the “Social media shakeout run world tour”, but a few people in the comments pointed out that I’m also a social media influencer, which is fair.
The truth is, I’m not really into shakeout runs. But I really value the community on this channel. The conversations and interactions in the comments and DMs are some of my favorite parts of the channel. I also get why creators and subscribers want to meet and chat in person. As runners and running YouTubers, shakeout runs are a great way to connect with a lot of people at once. And brands want to be a part of that too.
As a creator, I’d rather have 1-on-1 chats with my subscribers, but that’s not possible at a certain scale. Then I think about in-person Q&As, which I’d also love to do, but that requires a space, insurance, RSVPs or tickets… all sorts of things that as a solo creator, I just don’t want to do (or can’t do). I also totally understand why for many brands, that cost and/or liability is beyond what they’re willing to take on.
So, I get why shakeout runs work and are so common. But lately, it feels like the whole shakeout run thing is actually overshadowing the actual race events. Much of that is because the events themselves have outdated media planning and priorities, so I’ll blame them for that. But still, there must be a better way from both sides. I know Kofuzi has talked about this on his daily livestream, and I’ve caught a few of his discussions, especially around Boston and the BAA.
I don’t have a solution or a plan, just my thoughts.
I’m also not saying I’ll never do a shakeout run. If I do, I hope I can find a way to make it work for everyone involved, including myself and the audience.

Vacation (Sept 14 - 24)
Hello everyone. As I mentioned in the August Shoe Talk video I'll be in the US next week on a bit of a vacation, my first since starting this channel actually. It is basically a long road trip from San Francisco to Seattle over ten days. Interestingly I'm going through many of the areas I've been reading about lately in my dive into 1960s and early 1970s west coast US running culture (completely unplanned).
There will be normal Wednesday/Sunday videos, I've queued up everything. It's all Nike content but they go together in a larger story (in a way), which I've been wanting to talk about for some time, and that I find quite fascinating. So there will be plenty of content going live while i'm away.
I will be replying to comments, as normal. Though, because of timezones and all the driving I'll be doing it may be a bit delayed...but I'll get to everything. I am undecided if I'll be running at all while I'm away. I haven't taken a break from running, more than a 2-3 days in about 6 years. It may be good, giving me some rest before I dive properly into the 800/1500 build I'll be doing this fall/winter. If you don't see any activity on Strava until I get back, don't be surprised. Though I also doubt I'll be able to resist running as I far from burned out, it's more about finding the time while I'm away. I'll be most active on Instagram, posting stories and other random things, so if you don't follow me there and are curious...now is the time to follow (link on top of the page).
This fall is going to be fun. When I get back fall marathon season kicks off with Berlin and I have some interesting projects and content planned in October. More on that soon.
As always, thank you all for your support! 🤙🏻

Channel memberships and super thanks
I've gotten some recent comments and DMs asking if I have a Patreon or how one can support the channel. Well, about a week ago I turned on channel memberships here on YouTube as a way to do just that. Though, since nearly 50% of my traffic is in the YouTube app on an iOS device, it seems many people don't see the "join" button on this channel. Therefore, here is the link to join the channel as well as a link to my video announcing memberships and going over the two levels.
"join" link: youtube.com/channel/UC7LH0G7csGe-d0e3coywpQg/join

If you are interested, check those links out.
If a monthly subscription isn't your thing (I get it) then I have had "super thanks" available for almost a year. That is a way you can support the channel on an ad hoc basis. Look for the "thanks" button below the video title on a desktop, the feature also isn't available in the iOS app, but is in Safari.
As always, thank you for your support.
