You have to stay true to yourself as a creative. I wrote the first draft of my novel, realised that most of the people in my story were white, and said "Nah, that's not me, let me try again"

πAs a creative it is totally fine to be influence by other media BUT...There is one thing you have to! - Be authenticπ (Now hear me out...)
πYou can take as much inspiration as you want from other people but if you are not in tuned in what you are and what you are capable of bringing to the table then you will be devoured by your influences instead of them compelling your stuff to new heights...
πSo how do you be authentic so that your work still has your unique voice. It's quite simple really, just be yourself. Don't care too much about what others think and do what best for you.
