New video today! Sorry for the long wait: I've been travelling and working on a few videos at once, but hopefully the next ones should come out quicker.
(No, I have not read Portrait of the Artist. It's coming up soon on my TBR, tho, I promise. I keep making jokes about James Joyce, and now I can feel myself gravitating towards this book like a leaf blown by the wind of fate.)

Hey everyone: first of all, even though I don't suspect many of you are meticulously tracking my upload schedule, I would like to apologize for this long delay between videos. (I think this has been the longest I've gone without uploading before.) I don't have a good excuse, except that I've been feeling kinda meh, and in this last week in particular, I just lost all motivation for working on videos. It doesn't help that the longer I go without uploading, the more I feel like the next video I upload has to be perfect, so I end up with circa 20 video scripts in various states of completion and nothing actually finished, causing the gap between uploads to widen even farther, causing me to feel even more pressure to make the next video perfect, until we end up in a deadly feedback loop kind of like the one that caused Venus to overheat so much after a bunch of carbon dioxide got trapped in the atmosphere, causing all the water to evaporate and sending water vapor into the atmosphere, causing the planet to heat up even more, and so on until it got to the point where if the Soviet Union lands a probe on Venus, the entire thing literally melts after like five minutes.
That said, there will be a new video out tomorrow! In the meantime, I wanted to shout out a few things I've been in this past month just in case for some reason you are in desperate need of hearing the melodious sound of my voice on this evening in particular.
Firstly, @SamHarrison2099 invited me and several other booktubers onto his channel to talk about why we love the Wheel of Time so much. If you're at all interested in the Wheel of Time, or if you're wondering if it's a series you might enjoy, you might like to hear our (spoiler-free) thoughts! (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrTtX...)
Secondly, @dr.johnyoder invited me to partake in an project in which a bunch of us content creators narrated articles from the SCP wiki. The article I narrated is a great one to listen to in particular if you're looking to contemplate the infinite and face the rather horrifying idea that existence itself might be inherently agonizing. (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urYpH...)
Last but certainly not least, Alex and Griff once again invited me onto the @SilverlightGuidetotheCosmere podcast, along with fellow content creator StormlightMemes, to discuss theories about Wind and Truth, the next book in the Stormlight Archive. Wind and Truth comes out in just a few weeks, so listen now if you want to be impressed when every single one of our predictions inevitably comes true when the book comes out. Or so you can laugh at us when they all turn out to be wrong. I don't know. (There are spoilers for the other Stomlight books in this podcast episode, so do be warned.) (Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-7j7...)
Okay, that's all for now. Hope you all are doing well, and see you all tomorrow.
(Sneak peak of tomorrow's video below, so you can see I'm not lying.)

Thanks so much to you all for helping us reach 50k! We're halfway to that shiny shiny 100k YouTube plaque. But more importantly, we have officially surpassed the population of Midori, Japan. Also, if we were a city in New Zealand, we would be the eighteenth biggest city, just after Invercargill, and if each of you was represented as a single grain of rice, all of us stacked together would form a 300 meter tall tower, which is about as high as the Eiffel Tower. How about that?

We have officially surpassed the population of San Marino. Monaco and Liechtenstein are next!
Not that anyone's counting, of course.

So today's video is kind of a chonker, and pretty different from the stuff I normally post. It's been a while since I've done a review/breakdown of a nonfiction book, so sorry to confuse those of you who found my channel more recently, but I do like to do these in-depth reviews every once in a while, since I think there's a lack of that kind of content on YouTube, and I also enjoy the challenge of talking about more complicated subjects when they interest me. Anyway, I don't expect this video to do too well in the algorithm, but if you like history, anthropology, biology, or psychology - or if you're just looking for worldbuilding inspiration, which I'll admit is part of the reason I enjoy books like this, lol - you might be interested in checking it out! Thanks, and have a great day, everyone!

I'm not dead, just inconsistent! Anyway, sorry for no uploads last week, and here's a video some people have been suggesting for a while. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVeJh...)
Also, we hit 30,000 subs, apparently??? What is even going on anymore.

We made it to quintuple digits, folks! Those of you who have been with me for a while, thanks for sticking around, and those who are new, thanks for joining! I'm so excited to keep making videos on this channel, and can't wait to show you what's in store for this year.

Hey everyone! I promise I'm still alive; I just needed to take a couple weeks off because keeping these videos coming out has gotten rather tiring recently, and I've also been in Vietnam so I've been spending more time, you know, touching grass. (Pic below.) Not close to being burnt out or anything; just taking it a little more slowly.
Anyway, new video is out now! Go check it out if you want!

Quick update: I started a Discord server!
I probably should have done this a while ago, but I kept putting it off because, uh, I know nothing about running a Discord server. But for a while now, I've really wanted another way to interact with you guys outside of YouTube, and this seemed like the best way. So if you want to talk about books, fantasy and scifi, or any of the other topics I cover on my channel, feel free to join and hang out!
Since I'm so new at this whole Discord thing, try to help me out by following the rules and, you know, not spamming all the channels or something. (Also, if you know a lot about Discord and notice any glaring flaws with this server, feel free to shoot me a message, and I'll try to get it fixed! I really appreciate any feedback.)
Anyway, here's the link: discord.gg/epdRGRQT5k
Okay, that's all for now! You guys are awesome, and thanks for watching, as always.

Sorry for the delay in this week's video, guys! I've been travelling - as you might have guessed if you thought to wonder why all of my videos recently have been filmed in random hotel rooms/AirBnBs/outside places - and it's been harder than usual to keep my schedule consistent.
Either way, new sketch video out now! Go check it out (if you want to.)
