Is Oyo an Oppressor or a Protector?
Join me as I unpack the complex role of Oyo played from the pre-colonial era to the colonial period. I’ll be sharing a four-episode series that dives deep into whether Oyo was a shield or a sword — or maybe both.

Oyo-Ile and ancient Ife—two great cities that once stood as the heartbeat of powerful empires—have long since fallen.
Oyo-Ile, once the mighty capital of the Oyo Empire, collapsed in the early 19th century—over 190 years ago. That’s almost two full centuries, And even Ife, the cradle of Yoruba civilization, has long passed its era of dominance since 15th Century.
Remember, **one century is 100 years**, so it's been nearly two to six centuries since their fall.
Yes, the past holds lessons, pride, and memories, but we must understand: we cannot rebuild the future by living in the shadows of ruins. The two pillars has fallen, but the Yoruba people have not.
Now is the time to look forward—to stop dividing ourselves over old wounds and ancient rivalries. Let us stand as one Yoruba people, united in purpose, culture, and vision.
Our challenges today—poverty, insecurity, disunity, and youth struggles—won’t be solved by clinging to ancient pride.
History should guide us, not chain us. Let's honor our ancestors not just by remembering them, but by building a stronger, united future for the Yoruba nation.
Are you ready to face today and shape tomorrow? Watch This.

Losing someone you truly love is one of the hardest things to face. I know because I’ve been there. My greatest inspiration used to be my mom—I wanted nothing more than to make her proud. And I did. But when I lost her eight months ago, everything changed. The drive I once had, the fire that kept me going, suddenly felt dim.
I stayed strong on the outside, but inside, I struggled. Every day felt like a battle, and for the longest time, I didn’t know if I could push forward with the same passion. These past eight months have been the hardest of my life.
But today, I’ve made a decision—the show must go on. No matter how much it hurts, I know I can’t let my dreams fade away. If you’re going through something similar, I may not have all the right words, but I want you to know this: You are not alone.
Your journey doesn’t end with loss. You are still here, and your dreams still matter. Keep going—not just for them, but for you.
