Getting real for a hot minute: You DON'T have to be Wiccan to be a witch 🔮

Every Wiccan is a witch, but not every witch is Wiccan. It's as simple as that.

I would have started practising witchcraft at 15, but instead, I put it off till 19 because I just never liked the vibe of Wicca.

It never felt right to me.

I didn't know there were other paths ✨

I know plenty of newer witches out there (maybe even you) might feel like you have to be Wiccan in order to be a witch, but I promise, this is NOT the case at all 🙅🏼‍♀️

This is always the most important witchy tip I can give to newer practitioners because of how much it negatively impacted me. There's nothing wrong with being Wiccan if you want to, but it's really not for everyone. And that's ok!

Witchcraft is WAY older than Wicca.

🌛 Wicca is a 20th century movement that borrows a lot from pagan and witchy traditions.

🌿 Witchcraft and earth based spiritual practices are THOUSANDS of years old.

It is important to know this before you write witchcraft off, or before you commit to a practice without even really wanting to.

I always wish that someone would have been able to tell me this when I was a teenager, because I could have started practising four years earlier!

It's ok to be on the fence about Wicca. I was, and not following that path has worked out right for me. Trust your intuition- let the spirits of the earth guide you 🌲💫
