My wife is similar to Pen. She's chubby and was often overlooked. And is still quite shy but she has this dress that makes her shine entirely like this. So this makes me teary bc I know that if the public got to see her in that dress, the crowd would be in awe like this and maybe she could feel more comfortable and confident.
She doesn't watch the show with me. But I caught her lingering once and it was during this scene. She can always tell what I'm thinking. So she got one look at my face and said "OH MY GOOOODUH STOP THAT" before scurrying off. (I love that woman so much and she feels it so strongly that she has no idea what to do with that)
