My situation has been the very same, but and others things are separate me from this slave sistem in Serbia, and to live this short life as i want, like artist, payment are small and prices like in Europe, and i don't have choice or suces or not, buy honestly i don't know to stop, this short is so honest, and you suces, but your art are on highest level epic. I have room to progress. Regards master and wish you all best...Il be glad to learn Sargent style and its hard, abstract strokes make realism and true beauty.

I agree and have been saying this for sometime now. I feel really sorry for anyone relying on the sale of non-essential items to generate an income because people have less and less to spend on that kind of thing right now. Even teaching art is no longer a reliable source of income. Covid killed a lot of that, and people switched to online, but that market has now become saturated. You Tube algorithms for art are being squeezed out by people making up garbage about world events, past and present and people peddling miracle cures. Many artists moved to Patreon, but that is not only becoming saturated, but people have to know you are there in the first place. Paid advertising has become too expensive for microbusiness to afford.
I am retired, never was a professional artist, and have never been that good anyway. It has always been just a hobby fortunately.

Iâm an artist, but also a qualified accountant and economist. Iâve come to the conclusion that artists as individual traders is slowly becoming untenable. It seems to me artists should form collective workshops that do a mix of commissions, one off works and work that can be mass produced for consumer markets in a cooperative business model. This way artists can work together to pool risks and access a larger chunk of market share. Revenues should be distributed evenly and there ought to be a mix of artists in terms of mediums and styles. Membership of such a cooperative workshop should be democratically decided and decisions should be made collectively. This way an oil painter who spends a year painting a large complex scene that will sell for a high price can be counterweighted by a watercolourist who does seascapes and sells high volumes. Imagine high transaction volume and low price artists working with low volume high price artists- all pooling together marketing, risks, market share etc. A new model is needed in a world where the middle classes are being eroded away and we see more economic volatility.
