That’s what we do in the Adoration Chapel. We adore and worship the Lord in silence and so we will be able to hear Him in silence. That is called Eucharistic Adoration for us catholics.

This is a big reason churches and cathedrals were built so beautifully, to resemble something of heaven and to set the attitude for reverence and solitude with Jesus. Though I don’t believe the church is a sanctuary as in the Israel’s Temple with it’s Holy of Holies, because now the body of a Christian is now the Temple of God, still being in a place that is exclusively reserved for prayer and worship is a wonderful experience. Not that we worship anything that is created, whether the out of doors or in a church. Romans 1:25.
