Believe it or not, while it gives immediate pleasure, there are way too many plants in there. One petunia plant in the center will eventually fill that planter, without the need for as much water.

yes I open the diaper/nappy and sprinkle the gel beads into the soil/compost before planting the plants and never had any problems.

I just buy the cheapest nappies/diapers cut it open and mix all the gel beads into compost, you could also use an old pure wool jumper it will hold the water too for environmental conscious people.

Noticed most in comments are perplexed by the diaper. All hanging baskets dry out extremely fast due to air circulation in and around the basket. The diaper shouldn't pose a problem here. Plenty of air circulation and sun should eliminate any potential problems. 🌞

This is really cute but I'm curious about the diaper. Won't it hold water to long and maybe cause a pkroblem? Can you tell us about that? Otherwise, lovely.

Seems like the diaper would hold the water but stay stagnant and the water needs to drain out so mold doesn’t form around the plant hmm 🤔
