It’s no big secret that Trump wasn’t a fan of former prime minister Justin Trudeau, and he laid that out while sitting next to Prime Minister Mark Carney. Trump said he didn’t like Carney’s predecessor and a woman on his team — most certainly referring to former international trade and finance minister Chrystia Freeland, who led negotiations on CUSMA.

Carney ran against Freeland in the Liberal leadership and is the godfather to one of her children.
