Want to clear your anxiety as quickly as possible? Follow this three step process.
One instead of saying, I'm anxious say I feel anxious. We know from the research that helping you to distance from the feeling you're not anxious, you're not your anxiety. Helping to distance will actually help it.
Number two is do your best to see it as sort of, like kind of a cloud floating by it is since it's not of you, you're not, it's not all you are, you can see it as something gently floating by we call this metacognition where you're kind of looking at the anxiety over there. Wow, yeah, that's a lot of anxiety over there. Wow, I can really feel how much I'm experiencing that.
And then three, bring yourself to the here and now and remind yourself that you're okay. I'm okay. Right this second I'm okay and ground yourself in reality. That's the three steps to moving through anxiety as quickly as possible. I'm Dr. Abby Medcalf. Follow me for more tips just like this.
