I tried making Parmesan ice cream, and here’s my word of advice: if it’s too hot, the cheese will melt and not incorporate into the custard. You do not want a chunk of Parmesan in the middle of your ice cream.

I once has a strawberry basil sauce over vanilla ice cream. I bet that would be incredible over this. Thanks for sharing!

We have queso ice cream in the Philippines. A favorite.
We also have pinipig (fragrant rice), langka, ube, mango, mangosteen, macapuno, other native fruits..

At a wedding with the most amazing food I had olive oil ice-cream to round off the second day of festivities, and as a palate cleanser on the wedding day frozen grapes laced with grappa. Heaven!

Avocado is fantastic in desserts actually. Avocado milkshakes are a blessing.

Avocado ice cream honestly doesn’t sound that weird. It’s mildly sweet, it’s a fruit, it’s creamy, I feel like it would lend itself really well to ice cream.

I'm not surprised it would be delicious. My mom use to make Salvadoran Quesadilla (which is a sweet pan dulce instead of the tortilla con queso everyone in the states knows quesadilla to be.) my mom made it with Parmesan cheese. I looked up a recipe just now, and it seems different people use different cheeses, but for me, the parmesan cheese ones are authentic, and it was so delicious!

This would probably be really good as a component of a cheese plate (or even a dessert that riffs on cheese plates).

paramesan ice cream makes perfect senee to me. my mum used to make a desert she learned from an Italian family friend that used mascarpone and i would beg for it. cheese as a dessert makes sense! probably tastes creamy and nutty.

Avocado ice cream is not unusual in the Philippines. Although we consider it as a dessert fruit and not as a savory fruit.

We also have avocado shake and is really good! :)

You should try Garlic ice cream. There's a place in San Francisco that sells it called The Stinking Rose; all of their menu items have a ton of garlic in it, and it's all really good.

Now that I think about it, my favorite sweets involve a sweetened cheese component (carrot cake with cream cheese icing, cannolis and ricotta cakes, etc) so I might actually enjoy this

I love ice cream with cheese flavours! One of my favourites is from one of my local ice cream producers called "Swiss lunch": it's sweet and creamy with a fulfilling taste of slight saltiness ❤ Sweet + salty taste combo is my favourite of all times.

In the Philippines I had Cheese ice cream and ube (purple yam) ice cream... both delicious. Ube ice cream in young coconut is the best!💜
