Modern Subaru Owners: Get Your Strut Mount Caps Replaced ASAP!

Many modern Subaru models may have been equipped with a strut mount cap dust seal that was letting in water and trapping it, causing the strut mount to rust. While your Subaru may have left the factory with the revised part, here are the models that the new part fits, based on the part data at the link below:

Subaru Ascent (2024)
Subaru Crosstrek (2018-2024)
Subaru Forester (2023-2025)
Subaru Impreza (2018-2024)
Subaru Legacy (2022-2025)
Subaru Outback (2024-2025)
Subaru WRX (2023-2024)

Before just buying the part, pop your hood and look at the strut mounts. See if the part is domed or has a plateau like the ones shown in this video. You may already have the new design! Regardless of the design, you may want to pop the cap off to make sure there's no pool of water underneath!

The part, 20326FL002: parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru__/Suspension-Strut-Mount… (I make no commission from this link. Also, if you're looking at this way in the future, see if the part number has been replaced with 20326FL003 or above.)

Also, I have seen pictures of a dust cover that seems to cover the entire top of the strut mount. I'm not sure if that is 20326FL001 (which seems to have existed for a very short time to replace 20326FL000, the original part) or some sort of aftermarket option. If you know, let me know; I'm interested and may pick them up myself if they don't cost too much.
