The title should have been "potential cure for some forms of corneal caused blindness." For those of us who have retinal caused blindness or optical nerve caused blindness or other types, you skillfully raised our hopes, and then smashed them to the ground. Thank you so very much.

That's a cure for a specific type of cornea issue, not for blindness, which is a host of issues.

Imagine having advanced macular degeneration and hearing "cure for blindness," only to find out the "cure" has nothing to do with you. Cruelty itself.

I'm glad vision is such an important industry, because it will help fund the discovery of a lot of advancements in human health. Every detail we learn about stem cell activation and nerve attachment is something that will help us greatly all around the body

This is great to hear, however rates of since glaucoma are increasing and people with optic nerve damage due to glaucoma are still waiting for advancements in restoring the retina after damage.

Hopefully any advancement in restoring the damage to the optic nerve will also usher in the repair of other forms of nervous system damage (spinal or brain).

The day we invent a bionic/lab grown eye with and learn to clnnect it to the brain we will have cured most cases of blindness.

My father passed 3.5 years ago and was an organ donor..I received a letter from Alabama donor services a few months later that his corneal donation restored vision for someone and that just... makes me so happy that even after his passing he was able to give someone a renewed sense of life because he truly was the most giving man and just loved to do things to bring a smile to anyone's face..I like to think that he's somewhere where he can see this person smile anytime they remember that they can see again and it continues to bring him happiness
