When you hear this recommendation of 1 gram per pound comes from Arnold. But he was a professional, the best of body building. His body weight was mostly lean. So base your 1 g on your lean mass not your total weight. Also, consider if you are competitive or just staying in shape or trying to build a bit. So for most people trying to get in shape and lose a bit about half that would probably be about right. Don't use the 1g per pound as an excuse to overeat.

10 oz steak?? Omg I eat 2-3 lb steaks all the time . I cook small ribeye roasts, like they’re ribeye steaks.
