We always pick the smallest, cheapest ship with the most unusual itinerary we can. There are more people on a mega ship than live in my hometown and I surely don’t want that crowd on my vacation.

Because I'm handicapped, it's so much easier for me to go from Baltimore. I don't have a choice of ships unless I want to do carnival or Royal Caribbean. Often The accessible cabins are already booked so that makes you not be able to go to a certain points. Oh well, I still love going on a cruise and I go no matter what's available :-)

I started cruising on the SS Azure Seas. That’s was a GIANT ship at the time. We loved it. About a 1/10 of the size of a oasis class ship. Google a pic, you’ll be amazed.

Unfortunately sometimes you have no choice because you want to cruise from your home port that does not have a variety of RCL ships
