It's shown that people who have received compound V as adults tend to age FAR slower than those who received it as a child. Soldier Boy and Stormfront being good examples of that.

It’s 100% stress, homelander is currently struggling to work out who he is, he has a god complex but without any parents apart from the man who created him he has been traumatised and never experienced a healthy childhood, now even he’s own son is changing sides so from homelanders point of view everyone fakes their love due to fear but he doesn’t feel anything when feared so he’s going to self destruct any day (the grey hairs and split personality)

How you age depends intirely on the amount of compound v in your body. A-train was 37 in season one and needed compound v to boost his diminishing speed. Soldier boy and stormfront were the first subjects and got high doses so they're slow to age

it might be from soldier boy's power because when he was charging up the tnt twins powers faded away befor he blasted and he was doing the same thing when they pinned homlander so it probably weakened him since after that mave gave him a bloody nose and managed to stab him with a metal straw and hes started to age
