I taught myself how to read the Qur'an. There was a sister who always offered to teach me the recitation of Qur'an. After several years I knew I wanted to be able to not just recite it, but recite it correctly and memorize it. I held my self back. Because I thought, "wow, at 70 I can't remember the entire Qur'an". But with Allah all things are possible. During Ramadan I told the sister that I am ready. From the start I felt so blessed. Now I am on a journey to memorizing the entire Qur'an. Allah (SWT) is blessing me each and everyday to neet that goal. Al hamdu lilah. DO NOT GIVE UP. Allah (SWT) is with you every step of the way. Mashallah.
