It was originally called "Train 18". On 26 January 2019, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal announced that the train would be named the Vande Bharat Express. The outside of the Vande Bharat Express has an aerodynamic design that is meant to reduce air resistance at high speeds. It has a driver's cabin at each end, so it can move more quickly between stations.The trainset weighs 430 tonnes, and has 16 passenger cars with a seating capacity of 1,128 passengers
