I went to my first New Year's Eve party with people I worked with at Great Scott! supermarket on Schaefer just North of Michigan Ave in Dearborn. My Mom worked for their head Office along with a few other moms from our street, Brace. Anyway I was introduced to Ouzo that night, and don't you know I was Greek for the night, dance drink dance dance dance..I vaguely remember midnight and then I was moving around the house talking to everyone, then I had to pass out...sooooo wasted! My parents came to get me the next morning and bring me home. All this music brings back wonderful memories of friends on my street, how we hung out in the summer when our moms were at work. I went from bagboy at the supermarket to cashier at McDonald's just down the road. Those were heady times in high school..Charlie's Angels first season only was my obsession, I had the best locker wallpapered with all the People magazine covers they made, and some from fan magazines....I wanted California Girl Jill so bad, but I knew that the sporty Sabrina was the kind of I could really settle down with. Jaclyn Smith was a goddess, incredibly beautiful and perfectly feminine and I just knew that once her fire was lit she would have totally abandoned herself to me. I heard most of these songs first thing in the morning getting ready for school, and I cannot thank my mom enough for that...the AM DJ was Detroit radio legend Dick Purtan, who really made you feel like a friend and played ALL of these songs and more.
