This is the closest I've come to missing my YouTube-on-Tuesdays deadline since I started long format here in February! Video is uploaded and that %age is creeping up through the final checks. It will come out today! But probably by 10pm. Hopefully that doesn't upset whatever algorithms govern our lives.

Massive! I was invited by @HistoryHit to take presenter Luke Tomes all over to Berlin to explore key Third Reich locations that are still standing, and tell the story of Berlin during Hitler's reign from 1933-1945.
We visited the Brandenburg Gate, the Olympic Stadium, the Schwerbelastungskörper, Bebelplatz, the Reichstag, the 'Welthauptstadt Germania' model, and loads more.

My latest video is ready to go! I’m told that weekly releases, same day & same time are the path to success.
Frustrating then, that my video has been flagged for review, or it can’t be monetised. I’m not 100% sure why—it’d be nice if they told me. I can only think it’s because there was a few seconds of Nazi boob on show, courtesy of Leni Riefenstahl in a 1925 movie.
I actually anticipated this and censored it, because I know you’d all be traumatised/aroused beyond your control if you glimpsed century-old Nazi tatties.
I’ll release the video if/when it passes the checks 🕵️♂️

I qualified for monetisation! The video about Hitler’s four Berlin homes struck a chord and is how most of you found me. Hi! Thanks very much for subscribing. It genuinely means a lot. I know no one’s jealous of my €40, but it’s a start, and I’m excited and grateful to have reached this goal 6 weeks in to taking YouTube seriously.
What’s next?
For the next month or so, up to the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe (8th/9th of May) I’m going to keep focusing on the Third Reich/WWII period. I have a couple more Where The B******s Lived videos coming, but I’ll have to drop that branding as apparently swearing isn’t good for advertisers. Fuck, eh?
After that I’ll probably do some random, niche Berlin stories while I get into the swing of things. I do 99% of the work on these videos myself - research, writing, shooting, presenting, editing, and then checking in on likes, comments, corrections (and a tiny amount of abuse, mostly from people who don’t think men should have long hair and conspiracy theorists - I can handle it). I love making the videos, but 1 per week is a LOT of work. Thus, monetisation is key. Hopefully I’ll land a couple of sponsors soon, too. Otherwise, I may have to slow down/simplify a bit. Shoot some more videos in my office ;)

Hello, hello! Thought I'd do my first post. Excited to be here! It was a bit tight getting the latest video out. I've got the next one shot and ready to come out on Tuesday, and I'm working on another 2-3 that'll end up being outside of Berlin because...that's where I'll be over the next days.
Things are very WWII-focused atm - I want to carry that through the next month up to the May 8th 80th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe, and then I'll leave the war and the "Third Reich" behind for a bit and start looking at some other topics that grab my fancy in Berlin.
