Over the last few years I've gone from trying to get a video out every month to taking the time needed to deliver you the best experience. It's usually not just making a video but creating a game or some other piece of software or hardware. All this takes a significant amount of effort, but I wouldn't want to do it any other way.
So if you're interested in supporting my work and bringing out more great episodes, then please check the link above. There isn't a lot there now, but things are just getting started.
Why now? There is an official McDonalds Famicom I want to get and document for the channel, but it ain't free.

Anyone got any contacts over at Floatplane? It's been about a year since I first filled out the form to apply as a creator (I submit it once every couple of months) but I've never gotten a reply in the positive or negative. I'd rather be on Floatplane than a site like Patreon, so I hope I can find some way to get in contact (can't seem to find a support email on the site, just another form to fill out).
Edit: Support email is support@floatplane.com, but I did have to check the LTT forums to find it, will update if they get back to me.

Glad you enjoyed the SNES video & 〇 Star mini-demo. I'm still working on fixing some bugs, but the update should go live soon. I'll update the discord (discord.gg/jBBWGhtHvQ) for those interested in following along. The road map is to treat this like a project going on in the background for a bit until there is enough new material for a follow up video on some other SNES features (especially the sound system).
Until then, what do you want to see next?

Hey everyone, I'm so close to finishing this next project (pic related), but I don't want anyone to miss out on the PCBWay promotion going on right now with up to 50% off on PCB and assembly orders: www.pcbway.com/activity/christmas2024.html
PCBWay is one of those sponsors that I'm never embarrassed to promote. They didn't even ask me to post this today, I just genuinely want people to take advantage of a good deal.
See you all next week

I was looking back at the archives last night and realized that I have some videos that are pretty good, if not great, but for one reason or another just aren't that popular. So here's a playlist of those videos, ones that I look back on and am very proud of. I call them "hidden gems" but just a warning, that might be over selling them. My production quality wasn't great in the early days, but my style is still there. So if you haven't seen some of these, I give them my full recommendation.

Hi everyone, I've heard your feedback on this last video. I'm decided to make a single statement here rather than replying to all the comments individually. First off, going forward I will make it more explicitly clear when a large portion of the video relies on a product integration from a sponsor. I'll also try to condense any "pitch" or "talking points" to a single section of the video to allow those disinterested to skip that section.
That being said, for me this last video was a chance to check out the ARM architecture with a powerful chip in a typical ARM use case, in a mobile phone. A lot of people were not excited with so much talk about this "gaming phone" but that isn't how I see the device. I look at the REDMAGIC 9S Pro as a powerful mobile computer, and so when I'm comparing ARM and x86, trying out x86 emulation, and then writing ARM assembly, that's the lens through which I'm treating it. So my point of comparing PCs and this device wasn't a talking point, it was my genuine opinion about the general state of high end mobile computers. In fact, nothing in the video I said in the video was disingenuous, I’m not much of a salesman anyways, so anything I shared was exactly what I think.
However, I do realize that the dial was turned too much towards being a commercial, and while the main meat of the video doesn't explicitly deal with the phone, I understand how that gets lost in the muddle of how I structured everything. Having watched it a few more times with a fresh lens, I realize how the video could have been improved and segmented better. I’m still going to keep the video up as it is now, because although it isn’t the best thing I’ve ever made, to me, the main portion of it is still worth keeping.
I'm always working hard to improve each video and make it better than the last, but I'm bound to make a few mistakes, especially when I only have time for a dozen attempts a year.
Still, thanks to all the long time viewers. I'm glad you like what I make well enough to subscribe, and I hope that the coming videos will be the best I've ever made so far.
