There are millions of young Muslims across the world today yearning for a space where they can engage with Islam in a relatable way.
The vast majority of them don't have any foundational understanding of Islam, and are thrown into an environment where they wrestle with doubts, are tempted by desire, and find themselves questioning their identity,
About four years ago, Roots Academy was founded in our first site, delivering a series of face-to-face weekly classes on Muslim belief to university students in the UK.
The sessions are meant to be highly-engaging, touching on contemporary issues such as atheism and smartphone addiction, whilst teaching them the Essentials of their faith.
Since then, we've grown to have over 50 instructors teaching the Roots Essentials program in 50 sites across the UK, Canada and the US, with thousands of young students attending these classes on a weekly basis. We're a mostly voluntary taskforce (myself included), and operate in an extremely lean manner.
All this is from the Grace and Generosity of the Almighty, without whom we'd be nowhere.
